Having faith that God is actually God, I see the sudden attack on Christians and Jews in the military and the promungulation of Gays as a sign that the American Military is about to be destroyed. God will get his kids out of the way first.

Leftism, in its present form, is not really “pro” anything.
It is only a nihilist rejection of Western civ and everything it stands for. Since Western civ is based on Christianity, that religion is by definition evil.
Any other religion or ideology that opposes Western civ is a good thing.
WAY too many conservatives fall into the intellectual trap of thinking leftists oppose America because it is insufficiently liberal, or socialist, or feminist, or environmentalist, etc., etc.
In actual fact all of these causes are only rationalizations they are able to point to to justify to themselves their loathing of our civilization. The loathing is free-standing and emotional in its basis.
This is why movement in the direction they propose never mitigates their hatred. Their true goal, often subconcious, is the destruction of Western civilization, and nothing short of that will satisfy them in the least.
I also have a friend who says stupid crazy stuff against Christians and Jesus- I think because he’s tryin’ to get a rise out of me. But he’s a nominal Catholic and I better dare not say anything about that. Obviously a fool. But, he’s not alone. Even among people who are nominally conservative there is a serious anti-Christian sentiment about.
Weinstein’s rant - which is demonic in it’s ferocity and zeal is frightening for this country. If appointed policy makers publicly and brazenly get away with this it’s a dangerous precedent which is indicative of the new direction and slope this country is headed down.

The Roman empire and the US share a lot of historic similarities and parallels, and I’m afraid that the bloody persecution of Christians is going to be one of them

They hate Christians because they hate Christ, and they hate Christ because due to Him, they cannot hide their sins anymore, despite the mountains of rationalizations and philosophizing that they heap up.
Why shouldn't these brothers of the spirit be tolerant of each other when and where it really counts? There is time enough to turn on each other when their common enemy is vanquished!
