The accused Boston Marathon bombers' family pulled in more than $100,000 in welfare up until 2012, The Boston Herald reported.

The benefits included food stamps, Section 8 housing and stipends, the report said. One person with knowledge of the documents that will be handed over to the House Post Audit and Oversight Committee told the paper, "the breadth of the benefits the family was receiving was stunning."

I’m guessing that is one very very minimized estimation of the assistance they received. Section 8 housing assistance means that you get a house, apartment - whatever. You pay up to 25% of your spendable income - the rest is paid by the government. If you are on TANF, WICs, AFDC, e.g. welfare, you pretty don’t much have spendable income. Your bill ain’t enough to squat for.

What is a house, 3 bedroom apartment go for per month where they lived? Multiply for say, oh 10 years.... then add the weekly/monthly subsistence they got....MORE than $100K. Much more. I’m guessing at least 5 times that if you include the TANF, SNAP, WICS and whatever. Maybe more, depending on how lavish the home was.

Yep, and this is just one of millions of welfare parasite "families" enabled by the government to live off the hard work of others. This crew was particularly bad, but lots of others who are just plain worthless and still living large off the taxpayers labor (and not working at all).

Under the same scrutiny, any family or person in America should be cut off from any aid the first time a family member puts a gun in someones face, commits robbery, steals, engages in assault, buys or sells drugs, or commits any act harmful to society.

What we paid for these bomber boys, we've been paying to american families in every city who fill our jails, rob our stores, kill our neighbors, and who sell drugs.

Jihad ain't got nothin on our welfare crusade.

Not a day goes by that I don’t see them at Walmart, Kroger, or Ingalls....Piggly Wiggly near the 1965-built welfare houses is pretty much a given.

I’ve taken to early shopping in the 6:30 to 8:00 AM time frame...don’t see as many....they’re pretty grumpy at that time and it upsets them to get up so early.

Where I live, I heard that WIC recipients could have an income of 40K annually and qualify for assistance.

Believable...that’s about $250K over 10 years right there....this $100K thing is just bullshit.

Of course...the chilrun are involved... I see Mexicans who can’t speak one damned word of English foisting these WICs certificates all the time on the cashiers and questioning everything they KNOW doesn’t qualify...

It is the first thing they learn how to do when arriving here. They save their cash for the wine, beer and smokes.

Nobody gets off section 8, ever. I guarantee a check went to the landlord today from Cambridge housing authority.

I think I remember something some years ago - and maybe the law changed since then - that required an immigrant to show that they were not going to be financially indigent, in order to obtain any kind of visa that allowed them to stay here. Has the law changed?

This is for just one family. Are there any numbers detailing how many “immigrant” families there are milking us for this kind of cash? I’m thinking the number is in the millions.

We are talking many billions here.
