I mentioned this in the earlier Syria post but it’s worth repeating in light of WaPo’s bombshell this afternoon. A quote from this weekend’s NYT: “Nowhere in rebel-controlled Syria is there a secular fighting force to speak of.”

Great. Syrian “rebels” (i.e. Al Qaeda thugs) get free guns, but Obama wants me to have a full background check to buy pistol.
In Libya there were 21,000 MANPADS lost.

The rebels haven’t kidnapped enough Christian Bishops, apparently, and this will help them.

I was about to post sarcastically, “I’m so glad we learn from our mistakes.”
But that would assume this fiasco is merely a blunder, not what I really think it is: The purposeful act of traitors.
Obama has got a tricky game to play, but one which might well
redound to his advantage in his overall objective -—he can make it appear he will relent to “popular opinion” and live up to his “red-line” promise, and ACT on it.
SO—the Muslim Brotherhood wing o* the opposition will get the arms, or take them away *rom anyone else who gets them,
and we’ll have basically, another Egypt.
The Obama Syndicate has been arming al-Qaida-led Syrian rebels since day one. Benghazi was a weapons supply outpost for these rebels. As we saw what happened in Benghazi, these rebels are not our friends. What is very dangerous is the advanced portable antiaircraft and antitank heat-seeking, shoulder-fired missiles. These weapons, called Manpads, are being moved in through Turkey by US CIA operatives. Such weapons would have no problem taking down a passenger aircraft anyplace any time.
Is this “official” unofficial help or still “unofficial” unofficial help ?
