Question: Does Chicago have any sort of stop and frisk laws..as they do in NYC, which has proven to be very effective? Has it ever been proposed? Has Emanuel attempted to borrow this from Bloomberg?
Exactly the correct question.
Short answer: no. Longer answer - racial tension is higher in Chicago than it is in most big cities, and minorities are very suspicious of anything that could even facilitate any kind of profiling. There may even have been stop-and-frisk laws in the past in Chicago that were thrown out by judges.
