The Rand Machine Ramps Up by Bob Costa

Rand Paul’s chief strategist is leaving his Senate post to run the Kentucky Republican’s political shop.

Doug Stafford, who is widely seen as Paul’s closest adviser, will soon resign as chief of staff to manage Paul’s national political operation. Today’s news is the clearest sign yet that Paul, a potential 2016 contender, is building a presidential campaign.

well I used to start with abortion in my vetting for candidates to vote for...

1. He/she must be LIFE LONG pro-life

Now I have to add a new #1

1. He/she must have been born in the US of American parents
2. He/she must be life long pro-life

Rand Paul passes those 2

If he runs in 2016 I’ll check him for the rest of my list

No gay marriage
No AMNESTY
Must support military, veterans
must be 2a
etc

fine if he is...
I believe he is more conservative than his father, but with enough libertarian to make him a constitutional choice.

whether it be he or someone else we can hitch our wagon to, we need to get into the RNC and take it over, or get out and do it now.

I’d vote for him in a hot minute. I think he’s probably the most viable candidate as both Cruz and Rubio have citizenship issues that the MSM will parade around to the public REGARDLESS of Obama’s own status.

My local talk show - 97.1FM Alman in the Morning - played an audio of Rand slamming Hillary over Benghazi. He said she admitted to not reading the cables on more security. He said this makes her unqualified to hold high office..... This indicates someone running for President.

F him. He has already changed too much since in office. He went from a supporting limiting citizenship via the 14th Amendment[Birthright] to showing his true open borders colors.

Here we go again. Throwing out the good for the “perfect”.
Would you rather have Rand...or Haglary?

That is a false pick. And we have it every election. He already supports legalizing millions of people. That for itself is a nonstarter.

Rand has been quite solid so far, and I like him, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit wary (mostly due to his wacked-out father) of too much libertarianism hiding in conservative clothing. I have trouble with libertarians on their traditional weakness on borders/illegals issues, along with their pro-dope, pro-homo marriage leanings. Those are big deal-breakers with me.

Well lets seeeeee. He isnt Mormon, he isnt this or that, But he is for that, and that, makes him unqualified.

It is the same ol same ol.

I will vote for Rand Paul. If he runs, which he has indicated he will. His dad? Naw, I couldnt.

Neither was Ronald Reagan. And Reagan had to work through a Democrat controlled house and senate to get close what he wanted.

Lol.. where is this mythical conservative superman whom so many seem to be waiting for? Would having Rand Paul as candidate be the worst thing in the world? Well, I did vote for Romney and as of now feel much more comfortable with Rand than with Mitt or Rubio even and ten times more than his father.

Look, I hope I dont get flamed for this because I’m just freeflowing now,we’re never going to mass deport the millions of illegal immigrants here, its near logistically impossible and suicidal in light of public opinion. Now I don’t want to grant them citizenship and I really want a stringent e-verify system in place.. but until that time, shouldn’t we get some tax dollars back from them instead of letting them leach off our system in the shadows?

I think the best course of action is to implement a national e-verify that would take place about 5 years down the line. In the meantime, illegals would be taxed on their incomes and have the ability to apply for citizenship during this time. If they fail to do so, e-verify will take care of that. With a strong e-verify system in place, illegal immigration ought to be easily curbed.

Well I like Rand but he’s boxed himself in on this drone stand and he needs to just admit that he was wrong about droning some guy running out of a liquor store with $50 in his hand. He’s somewhat backing off his immigration stance since the Boston bombing. If he can get his head straight on these two issues then I could definitely support him for President in 2016.
