Boston Bombers’ Timeline:

Oct. 1986 – Tamerlan Anzorovich Tsarvaev born in Kalmykia, Russia. Mama Zubeidat K., does not dress Islamic.
June 1988 – Bella born.
July 1990 – Ailina born.
1994 – Tsarvaev family fled to Kyrgyzstan at beginning of Chechen war. Aunt Maret Tsarvaev states Papa Anzor, a mechanic, was persecuted by Kyrgyzstan police for stealing cars so paid them bribes.
July 1993 – Dzhokhar is born in Dagestan.
1994 – Family moves to Mama’s hometown of Makhachkala in Russian republic of Dagestan, a stronghold for terrorists.
1995 – Uncle Ruslan Zaindi Tsarni (changed spelling of last name at some point), of Tokmak, Kyrgyzstan, first came to US.
March 2002 – Papa (born June 1966 and married about 1984), Mama (born May 1967 in Dagestan) and Dzhokhar immigrate to US and seek political asylum. Tamerlan and sisters Bella and Ailina are left with Maret in Kyrgyzstan. Family gets on welfare.
July 19, 2003 – Maret brings Tamerlan, age 16, and his two younger sisters to the US.
2006 – Tamerlan’s amazon.com wish list shows radical leanings. Nadine Lopez Ascencao begins dating him and states he was a bully in high school.
June 2006 – Tameraln graduated from Cambridge Rindge and Latin high school and made friends with international students. As of 2009, Cambridge Rindge and Latin remains one of the most diverse schools in the United States, with over 83 different countries represented within its halls and has an Engineering program.
Sept 2006 to 2008 – Tamerlan attends community college part time and receives Pell Grant and other government education aid.
July 2007 – Katherine Osborn Russell, of RI, arrested for shoplifting and case dismissed Aug 20, 2007. Attends Suffolk Univ. from Fall 2007-Spring 2010 when she drops out and marries Tamerlan. She was born Feb 1989.
2008 – Uncle Ruslan moves back to US.
2008 – Mama and Tamerlan get more into ROP and mama starts wearing hijab. Reports are Mikhail “Misha” Allakhverdov, an Armenian-Ukrainian, was influential in radicalizing them. Misha’s father is an Armenian Christian and his mother is an ethnic Ukrainian. The family had lived in Baku, Azerbaijan, but had left in the early 1990s for the United States to escape growing persecution of Armenian Christians there. He claims he hasn’t had contact with Tamerlan since he and his parents moved from Boston to RI in 2010.
July 19, 2008 - Tamerlan and Mama have been in America for the required 5 years so are eligible for US citizenship. Tamerlan gets legal permanent residency. At some point Mama gets US naturalization.
2009 - Tamerlan forcing Mama to wear hijabs, etc. and forces family members to quit drinking, smoking, partying in accordance of islam. Or mama became more Islamic on her own. Papa has concerns over Mama’s transformation.
2009 – Tamerlan and Uncle Ruslan, of Montgomery Village, Maryland, have falling out. Tamerlan calls Uncle an infidel. Tamerlan quits work and college. Uncle says Tamerlan getting radicalized at Cambridge mosque. Uncle Ruslan’s ex-wife is daughter of high ranking CIA officer Graham Fuller who had many years of dealings with middle east. Amazon.com shows author Fuller is living in Vancouver, Canada and many writings on ROP.
2009 – Katherine Russell converts to islam
April 2009 - Tamerlan’s boxing magazine article. Wants to represent US in Olympics and become naturalized US citizen although he doesn’t have any friends and doesn’t understand Americans. Boxing club president stated he was an under achiever because he did not dedicate himself to the proper training regimen.
July 28, 2009 – Tamerlan arrested for beating live in girlfriend, Nadine. He wanted her to convert, wear hijab and share his hatred of US.
2010 – Tamerlan’s domestic abuse case dismissed.
2010 – Boxing club owner meets Tamerlan who dressed like he was John Travolta Saturday Night Fever on the runway.
2010 - Golden Gloves of America changed rules to ban non-US citizens at Tournament of Champions level.
2010 - Through social network monitoring in late 2010, Russian officials note ties between radical Tamerlan and William Plotnikov, a Russian born Canadian boxer, Islam convert and member of the terrorist organization Caucasus Emirate in Dagestan.
June 21, 2010 – Tamerlan and Katherine get marriage license and are married at the Masjid al-Qur’aan mosque where none have attended. Her family don’t care for Tamerlan and most refuse to attend wedding. They move into mama’s Norfolk street Cambridge third floor apartment. Mama continued to pay rent after she moved to Russia and they lost their Sec. 8 housing supplement in Jan 2013. Katherine then worked 70-80 hours as a home health aide. They have a daughter, Zahira.
? – Sister Ailina divorces Elmirza Khozhugov and moves back in with Mama at her Cambridge triplex apartment.
Dec 2010 – Uncle Ruslan, 39, gave a witness statement to the High Court in London that he worked in various capacities with a closely knit network of associates led by Nazarbayev’s son-in-law from 2000 to 2008 that regularly engaged in fraudulent business practices and that Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev had overseen the theft of state assets worth billions of dollars.
2011 – Russia claims Mama texts relatives in Russia Tamerlan willing to die for Islam
2011 – Maret, of west of Toronto, Canada reports Tamerlan is praying five times daily. Maret hasn’t seen brothers since about 2008.
2011 – Parents divorce and Papa moves back to Russia
March 2011 - Russia intercepts calls between Mama and Tamerlan and possibly Dzhokhar and sends warning to FBI. Mama also on phone with someone in the Caucasus region of Russia who was/is on FBI list.
April 2011 –Dzhokhar wins Greater Boston League Winter All-Star for wrestling.
April 2011 or June 2011 - FBI closes file on Tamerlan and Mama.
June 2011 - Dzhokhar graduates from Cambridge Rindge and Latin high school where he was co-captain of the wrestling team. He barely passed and according to other co-captain, Peter Tenzin, drank and smoked like 95% of the school Many claim he’s a good kid and City of Cambridge gives him a $2500 scholarship.
July 1, 2011 – FBI puts Tamerlan on TECS list to monitor his travels.
Sept 2011 - Russia sends second warning, this time to CIA. At some point, US officials meet with family at their home and Tamerlan is defiant to them.
Sept 2011 to Nov 2012 – Tamerlan and Katherine get welfare. She has dropped out of college and is working. He isn’t working or boxing.
Aug 2011 to Dec 2012 – Dzhokhar gets failing grades in college. He began as an engineering student and then switched to biology. Joins Muslim Student Association intramural soccer team.
Sept 11, 2012 – Tamerlan’s best friend, another Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School grad (same class as Tamerlan?) and boxer, Brendan Halley Mess, 25, and two other Jewish men, Erik Hacker Weissman, 31, a Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School grad, and Raphael Teken, 37, and close friend to Mess’ brother Dylan, were murdered in Waltham – throats slit, marijuana and money scattered over bodies. Suspicion is now on Tamerlan.
Oct 2011 - CIA puts Tamerlan and Mama on terrorist list.
Dec 2011 – Tamerlan attempted to go for a pilgrimage known as an Umrah to Mecca but that was the wrong time of year for such. Saudi Arabia denies Tamerlan access visa due to human intelligence developed independently from Russia in Yemen.
Jan 12, 2012 - Tamerlan goes to Russia. Papa claims he was with him the whole time but US officials claim papa wasn’t in Dagestan at that time. Before leaving Russia, he applies to replace his soon to expire passport from the Republic of Kyrgyzstan with a Russian one but returns to US before receiving it.
April 2012 – Dagestani Center for Combating Extremism registered Tamerlan’s repeated meetings with radical Mahmud Mansur Nidal, 18, who had been under surveillance as a recruiter for the Dagestani insurgency. He was killed in a police operation in Makhachkala on May 19, 2012.
June 13, 2012 – Mama arrested for shoplifting.
July 14, 2012 – Plotnikov is one of several insurgents killed in a battle with Russian security forces. Russia speculates Tamerlan may have been involved with Plotnikov and were searching for him.
July 17, 2012 - Tamerlan lands in US from Russian trip and has grown a full beard. Neighbors say a few weeks later he was clean shaven.
2012 – After Tamerlan returns, Saudi Arabia Ministry of Interior wrote a letter to warn US DHS “at the highest level” and Britain of concerns of a terroristic attack on an American city and specifically names Tamerlan and that US should inspect his mail for bomb making compontents. The joint warning also named three Pakistanis of interest to Britain. DHS and Caitlin Hayden, a spokesperson for the president’s National Security Council, deny any such warning. DHS then comes clean admitting the letter exists but because of “turf wars” between agencies, DHS may not have notified the WH.
Aug 2012 – Tamerlan creates Youtube terrorist videos showing Imarat Kavkaz militant Islamic group from Caucasus and Abu Dujana, a jihadist leader.
Sept 5, 2012 – Tamerlan applies for US citizenship which is delayed because of closed FBI investigation.
Sept 11, 2012 - Dzhokhar gets US citizenship.
November 2012 - Mama skips out on shoplifting court date and goes to Russia.
Nov 2012 – Tamerlan rants in mosque.
Nov 2012 – Tamerlan rants at muslim shopkeeper who advertised Thanksgiving turkeys.
Jan 18, 2013 – Tamerlan rants again in mosque and is asked to leave.
Jan 20, 2013 – Tazhayakov returns to US after having been gone since Dec. 2012. His student visa had been terminated in the interim due to his academic dismissal from UofMass-Dartmouth. The termination was in Homeland Security Department’s Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) when he was let back into the country but U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) was unaware.
Feb 6, 2013 – Tamerlan purchases fireworks.
February 2013 - Dzhokhar has fireworks. He, Tazhayakov and others set them off along the banks of the Charles River.
March 2013 – Over dinner, Dzhokhar tells Tazhayakov and Kadyrbayev, he knows how to make a bomb.
April 15, 2013 – Boston Marathon bombings kill three and injure 260.
April 16, 2013 - Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal meets with Secretary of State John Kerry. Al-Faisal now states Yemen-based sources militants referred to Tamerlan dismissively as ‘the volunteer’, gung-ho, self motivated jihadi who wasn’t tasked by a larger group. According to campus and dorm friends, Dzhokhar blended back into college life and acted normal as if nothing had happened. Dorm friend, Andrew Glasby says Dzhokhar, who smoked marijuana daily last year, told him this year he didn’t smoke anymore (this follows Tamerlan quitting smoking). Andrew didn’t know he had a brother. Dzhokhar offered to drive Andrew home the next day.
April 17, 2013 – Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal has an unscheduled meeting with Obama. According to UMass card swipes, Dzhokhar visited the gym and his Pine Dale Hall dorm room. Kadyrbayev sees Dzhokhar has cut his hair short.
? – Mama says Tamerlan called to say the FBI had called him and wanted him to come in for questioning about the bombing but he refused and told them to come to him.
April 18, 2013 – 5:20 pm FBI releases pictures of bombing suspects. 7:00 pm, Tamerlan calls Uncle Alvi Tsarnaev, of Montgomery Village, MD, for the first time in two years. Tamerlan tells him he loves him and to forgive him.
*Kadyrbayev’s FBI (May 1 arrest) statement claims he was driving home when Phillipos calls to say turn on the tv when he gets home because the pictures look like Dzhokar. 8:43-8:48 pm, Kadyrbayev and Tazhayakov begin text Dzhokar who tells them not to text him, that he’s leaving and for them to go to his dorm and take what they want. However, Kadyrbayev says the three met on campus and went to the dorm at 6-7 pm and the roommate let them in saying Dzhokar left a couple hours earlier. The three watch a movie, notice the backpack and fireworks and that’s when Kadyrbayev knows Dzhokar is the bomber. He takes the backpack and laptop back to their apartment. 10:00 pm, they put backpack in a garbage bag and throw it in a dumpster.
*Tazhayakov posts to his social media page Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ “Can Not Hold Us” ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SihoKQ-uLqE – lyrics are this is the night we are going to fight and preview ad is The Purge with all crime is legal.) In his FBI (May 1 arrest) statement, he claims while out shopping, that Kadyrbayev texted him at 9:00 pm to say the bomber looks like Dzhokhar. He goes home. Kadyrbayev texts Phillipos to meet them at Dzhokhar’s dorm room. The roommate lets them in. Kadyrbayev shows Tazhayakov Dzhokhar’s text that he’s leaving and to take what they want from the room. Tazhayakov thinks he’ll never see Dzhokhar again. He is frightened by what they find and then knows Dzhokhar is the bomber. He says all three took the stuff back to their apartment. At 6:00 am the next morning, they watch tv and Tamerlan is dead so he and Kadyrbayev decide to throw away the backpack.
*Phillipos’ FBI (May 1 arrest) statement gives constant lies to the FBI. He finally claims they discuss throwing away the backpack at 11:00 pm. He then takes a two hour nap and when he awakes, the backpack is gone.
April 18, 2013 – 10:30 pm Sean Collier, 26, MIT police officer found shot dead in his car. Shortly after, Chinese student is kidnapped with his SUV and bombers identify themselves.
April 19, 2013 – Mama says Tamerlan calls to say police are chasing and shooting at them and he loves her. 1:00 am, police shootout with bombers. Escaping Dzhokhar drives over Tamerlan. Tamerlan dies. Early that morning, mass transit shut down, some neighborhoods in “shelter in place” and colleges cancel classes. 8:00 am “shelter in place” extended to all of Boston. 8:30 am taxi service is shut down. Police doing door to door searches in Watertown. 10:45 am bombers’ 1999 Honda is located. 6:05 pm Governor lifts “shelter in place” and mass transit reopens. 400 yards from where the Honda was ditched, a Watertown homeowner finds Dzhokhar hiding in his boat and calls police. 7:00 pm police arrive and fire shots at boat. 8:45 pm Dzhokhar in custody.
April 19, 2013 - FBI interviews Ailina in her West New York, NJ apartment (google street view shows dumpy street with graffiti and boarded up windows) and remove a computer, cell phones, and several plastic bags of evidence (arrive morning and leave 4:30pm). Ailina hasn’t seen the brothers for years and the family hasn’t met her husband because they don’t approve of him not being muslim. West New York police seal off her neighborhood and posts a 24 hr. guard. One policeman brings her baby formula. Friend, Vicki Colon, of Passaic, says Alina feared Tamerlan because he used to beat her. FBI interviews the sisters’ previous landlord who reports they moved out in Jan. for not paying rent and noise and fighting complaints on Bella and boyfriend Ahmad Khalil. Dec. 2012, police are called to their apt. and arrests Bell for domestic abuse against Khalil and Khalil arrested for large amount of marijuana.
April 19, 2013 – Tazhayakov and Kadyrbayev’s Bedford apartment raided by a dozen FBI at gunpoint and neighbor says officers with guns trained on the apartment were stationed on the ground behind the tennis court. They and a female were arrested and taken away in zip ties. Inside Kadyrbayev’s BMW with license plate ‘Terrorista #1’ was found a receipt from a Ralph Lauren store, a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses, a receipt from a shipping company, a prescription, lots of crushed water bottles and a number of parking tickets. The FBI brought in a ¬U-Haul but it left empty. A short time later, “two Russian speaking men in their early 20s later arrived at the apartment and told reporters they were journalists from the Boston Globe. They then entered the apartment through an unlocked patio door. When asked what they were doing they said: ‘We are friends of theirs. They are talking, they are talking’ and closed the door. When MailOnline rang the City desk of the Boston Globe, a man said: ‘We’re very busy right now. Consider us informed’.” A few hours later, the three were released and returned to the apartment. Later, the female left in a consulate car. A neighbor confirmed Tazhayakov and Kadyrbayev had been gone for a couple weeks a few months ago.
April 19, 2013 – Katherine’s parents, Warren K. and Judith Russell put their North Kingstown, Rhode Island home up for sale. Judith reads a short statement to media.
April 20, 2013 – The Russell home is searched by FBI and Katherine is taken in by DHS for questioning for a few hours. Tazhayakov and Kadyrbayev are now arrested for student visa violations.
April 21, 2013 – Dzhokhar tells FBI the bombs were made in Tamerlan and Katherine’s (age 24) 800 sq ft Cambridge apartment and they upped the original Fourth of July date to the marathon because they finished the bombs early. They were going to detonate the bombs at the Charles River Esplanade celebration. Another site would have been Times Square, NY. That they acted alone and that they learned how to build pressure cooker bombs from an online al Qaeda magazine, Inspire. At some point, the FBI sends more investigators to Russia.
April 23, 2013 – Katherine’s Aunt Elizabeth Russell, of RI, hasn’t seen Katherine in four years because her “whole path” caused friction and an estrangement in the family.
May 1, 2013 – Three more suspects arrested by Boston PD – One American, Robel Phillipos, of Cambridge, Mass., 19, who lives with his Ethiopian immigrant mother (who works with immigrants) in an apartment next to where the Chinese student’s SUV was carjacked, graduated with Dzhokhar and dropped out of University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth this year. Friends claim he’s a good kid, made good grades, took care of his mom and not an anti-American thing about him. Also, Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev, the Terrorista dudes and Kazakhstani friends of Dzhokhar, who have been in custody for a week for student visa violations of not attending class. Azamat was allowed to return to the US from Kazakhstan in January despite his student visa having previously been terminated after his academic dismissal. Dias, an engineering student, was last registered for college fall semester 2012. All three conspired to aid Dzhokhar by throwing away his laptop, Vaseline, backpack and fireworks with black powder out of it after concluding he was one of the bombers upon seeing the fireworks and stonewalled authorities.
May 2, 2013 –4:10 pm Kadyrbayez and Tazhayakov appear in court with next hearing scheduled for May 14. 4:25 pm University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth releases statement that Kadyrbayez and Phillipos are not currently enrolled and Tazhayakov is suspended pending outcome of case. Tamerlan’s family claimed his body and it was sent to an Attleborough, MA funeral home where it stayed for four hours before being police escorted at night to Graham Putnam and Mahoney Funeral Parlors in Worcester.
May 3, 2013 - Worcester community is angry over terrorist being there. Tamerlan’s family wants an autopsy done before burial. DHS orders effective immediately to verify every international student who arrives in the U.S. has a valid student visa. ATF are searching public owned woods around university.

Per your link - The extended Tsarnaev family was well-known even beyond their local community. A high-level Interior Ministry official told RFE/RL that security services were very familiar with some members of the clan.

Doesn't sound like they changed when they came to America.

There's much more to this Fuller tie than we'll ever know.

It would be FASCINATING if he was a legacy member because his relative founded the organization..but Russell is a common name.
