The UK Independence Party has achieved its best showing at the polls yet by winning almost 150 seats in the council elections.
Nigel Farage, the partys leader, was jubilant after it emerged that one in four voters supported Ukip in the elections in 35 councils in England and Wales.
The rise of the party cost the Conservatives three local authorities, although Ukip did not win control of any councils.
The party was even second in the South Shields by-election in the north east of England, where the Tories were third and the Liberal Democrats a distant seventh.

Prezactly.
and gay marriage!
Maybe Lady Thatcher’s recent passing has reminded people of when they had a good conservative government.

Hopefully this can carry over in future UK elections....and motivate similar movements elsewhere
I think you’re right. I’d take an extended leave of absense from my job and work my ass off for local tea party candidates at this point. GOP-e can KMA!!!
It is already happening. The tea-party candidate for Michigan GOP state chair lost by 17 votes. The establishment closed two important district caucuses before he could have a chance to speak to them. They know we are coming.
