Polls show Gomez closing on Markey days after Massachusetts Senate primary
Two new polls have Gabriel Gomez, the Republican candidate for a Senate seat out of Massachusetts, within single-digits of the front-running Democratic candidate -- just days after the Tuesday primaries.

He is a former US Navy Seal.
One poll has him trailing by 4 points.
He’s another liberal. A Scott Brown type, but in a state like Massascrewit, its worth it just to deprive the DemoRats of procedural votes.
He donated money to Oblame in ‘08, Alan Kharzei (D) Goobernatotrial Candidate and begged Devalue for Scott Brown’s job.
OTOH... Ed Markey is so fos, exceptionally stupid and vacuous...he should be in a home, not ours.
Lawyer, career politician, member of the KKK (Kennedy klan kisser), with a solid libtard record ...
The Massachusetts election machine is completely fraudulent. Only the predetermined Dem will win - even if not one vote was cast for that canditate.
If he is so accomplished, why did he BEG Deval Patrick to appoint him as Kerry's replacement and PROMISE Patrick he would BACK OBAMA'S OBJECTIVES in the Senate - including gun control and amnesty for illegals? Gomez even said he supported Obama in 2008 and gave $$$ to him!
Gomez is a scumbag Democrat who supported Ubama.
It’s all a silly game in Massachusetts. There truly is only one party there, much as in, say, Philadelphia.
My Bad! I get my Idiots mixed up! It was Senator I got bit in the butt by a big skeeter in Viet Nam’s job ...sorry.
Scott Brown is a moron, Gabriel Gomez is vying for curb ball.
Gave $500 to Obama.
Said he will support Obama on gun control.
Said he will support Obama on immigration.
Says he is pro life but wants roe left alone, making him a lying pile of steaming dog crap.
Pro gay marriage, while saying he is guided by his Catholic faith...do I really need to go on??????????!!!! ...oh yeah, he also thinks Obama's mini me, deval patrick is doing just a great job in Mass.
I understand Gomez is pro-amnesty, pro-homo marriage, and pro-gun control. No way in hell would I ever give such a person my vote. Hope the creep loses.
If I had to bet, I’d guess Gabby lied about this like everything else and took the subway like Rosie Ruiz.
I seriously would not be one bit surprised to find out he was never a seal either. His gross lack of character is an insult to such a great group of men.
He is worse than scott.
Not a Scott Brown type...literally the only difference between him and Markey is probably the party registration. Scott Brown was at least with us 40% of the time.
Scott Brown caught them by surprise in 2010. I doubt that happens this time around.
Howie will find it if it is there. As soon as I heard this guy “talk” on the radio interview I said “lying scumbag” and I felt bad for saying that against military.
He also supported Obama. He certainly won’t get my vote.
The media ginned up so much dissatisfaction with America’s healthcare system that people couldn’t imagine how it could get any worse. They’re about to find out.
“What difference at this point does it make?”
Not that difficult. You don’t accomplish anything by voting for a liberal Democrat over a liberal Republican.
PPP poll has Markey up by only 44% to 40%.
Somewhat surprising but Markey is a lackluster d-bag.
Markey calls the RINO Gomez “Tea Party”, and also oxymoronically says Gomez wants to take us back to the Bush era. Which is it Markey? ;p
What's wrong with that, 4.5% unemployment, $1.87 gasoline, a record breaking economic boom.
Markey is a giant piece of sh*t. This guy has the potential to be more of a communist than Bernie Sanders or High cheek-bones Warren. In the Democrap party, its a lot different than in the Republican party. The moderate Democraps are subservient and kind to the far left Democraps, but this a$$hole is too extreme even for his own colleagues, like Mark Begich who recently scolded him.
I want Gomez to win just to piss off Markey. He’ll be a Democrat in the senate, but who cares. He might vote with conservatives once every millennium.
Begich is trying to win reelection in Alaska. He’ll have no trouble making out with Markey behind closed doors.
Speaking of our good pal, Mark Begich, I recently visited an exploratory website for Mead Treadwell, the Lt. Governor who is considering a run against Begich. I think he might have a good shot, and he’s as conservative as we’ll find unless Joe Miller or Sarah Palin decide to give it a shot. Begich is a weasel, elected on a fluke. His seat would add nicely toward our goal of six.
>> He is a former US Navy Seal.
And McCain is a war hero...
The guy is a conservative Democrat, and that’s certainly better than the Leftist he might replace.
If both run I’d favor Treadwell over Miller. I think he’s a stronger candidate.
Begich should be target #1, we gotta get that seat back.
He's a scumbag who, guaranteed, will switch parties in short order.
He is Lincoln Chafee, Jim Jeffords, and Arlen Specter all rolled up in one big square of toilet tissue.
I agree. If we can get that seat along with Hagan’s in NC, I think we’ll just about do it with this path, (AK, AR, LA, NC, SD, WV). Nail down those, and Michigan and Iowa will only have to serve as backups.
Begich defeated a candidate who was indicted on corruption charges by a measly 1%. Cleaning his clock should not be difficult, as long as we don’t have Rove trashing the conservative candidate all over Fox. I’m with you about Miller. Treadwell would be preferable.
Gomez could fire back on that... "Yeah, I want to take us back to when people had JOBS."
Any candidate with any prospect of defeating my congresscritter Ed Malarkey's promotion to the Senate has my vote.
Congressman (since 1976) Ed Markey, currently representing the Massholes of MA-05, welcomes your support in his Senate bid.
Agree...worse to have a despicable turncoat RINO than have the Dem in the seat... they love to use the RINO’s to claim “bi-partisan” status on their socialist legislation, because they know it weakens the conservative base.
I doubt it's accurate. It's a Senate race in ultra-DemonRAT Massachuttes, plus the little RINO turd is hardly reminiscent of Scott Brown and Markley is no Coakley. This is probably like those silly "polls" claiming Linda McMahon was competitive in 2012 for some unfathomable reason, causing the GOP to waste resources in that state, and then she ended up losing by the same double digit margin she lost by in 2010 (12 points)
That being said, if he's still within a 4 point margin on election day, I'd give the poll the benefit of the doubt and hold my nose for the weasely RINO.
>> Markey calls the RINO Gomez Tea Party, and also oxymoronically says Gomez wants to take us back to the Bush era. Which is it Markey? <<
These are moonbats you're talking about. They also think Joe Lieberman is a "Bush clone" despite the fact he agrees with Obama on 95% of bills. They think Rick Santorum would somehow simultaneously "start a war with Iran" and "create a theocracy run by the Catholic Church" They think we all worship Karl Rove when every conservative despises him. There is no sanity in the moonbat mind. To them, Bush probably IS the Tea Party and created it behind the scenes. I don't to speculate any further, trying to understand the moonbat mindset is like trying to decipher a message in Charlie Manson's rantings. It's not good for your health.
Informative thread. Thanks to all posters. The only positive here appears to be a potential to...vote ALL incumbents out ALL of the time. DEFUND/DISMANTLE incumbent/socialist collectives. Run, Gomez, run. Win, Gomez, win.
Has-been Markey has been around too long BUMP!
Even on the Left, there are gradations of bad. Markey is one of the worst. He actually ran ads in the primary proclaiming that he would keep late-term abortions available.
Do some research. I don't know anything about Gomez except that, at some point in his life, he was motivated to serve his country. That puts him miles and miles ahead of the disgusting Markey.
This is the people’s republic of Massachusetts. They are not going to elect a conservative under any circumstances. You gladly take a guy like Gomez just to get his vote to organize the Senate for the R’s. It’s a no brainer.
Gomez will beat Malarkey!
I don’t care.
Any candidate, Republican or Democrat, that supports fag marriage and open-borders amnesty can go choke to death, as far as I’m concerned.
Here’s a column about Gomez and Markey, from the belly of the beast:
What is that group that researches people who falsely claim to be military heroes? I think it is called Stolen Valor. I am not saying that Gomez has lied but I will look it up just in case.
I am one of those people who believes in half a loaf is better than none, but this time I am saying forget about it. Throw Gomez to the sharks. Gomez is pulling our chain in a most disingenuous way. I am sick and tired of these rinos without a soul.
As was stated in the massresistance article, Gomez will bring the Republican Party way to the left. The last thing we need right now is another Republican caving on the Democrats’ issues. No more *me too* Republicans! We have to punish the rinos so that they know that there will be a price to pay when they abandon our nations long held beliefs. If Gomez wins and is rewarded for lying and double-dealing than all the fake Republicans throughout the country will start waving their liberal flags.
When it comes to the Presidential vote I think that you have to take the least bad candidate—I believe in half a loaf is better than none. But when it is a Senatorial vote it doesn't matter so much if we lose to the Democrats because a Senator is one of a hundred. A Senator does not have the special powers or the special honor that the President has. A Senator is one of a hundred but there is only one President.
If Ed Markey get elected it will be no game changer, he will be pretty much like John Kerry.
The article below has an excellent suggestion that Massachusetts could do what the New York Conservative Party does. They rarely run candidates but when they see a good Republican that shares their beliefs they will throw their support behind that candidate. This sounds like a good way to cut through all the false labeling that the rinos do, calling themselves conservative, pro-family—yadayadayada. Even the Massachsetts Tea Party is very suspect, it is just the old game of the insiders trying to co-opt any new challengers. With a Massachusetts Conservative Party that was not in competition with the Republican Party but would sort of act like the conscience of the party, it would be a good way to lead from the sidelines.
In other words there isn’t one thing that he says that isn’t crossed out by something else that he says. We should start calling him Mr. Tic-Tac-Toe.
Gomez didn’t so much talk as he kept repeating his talking points over and over again. That’s how they sell laundry soap in the tv commercials—just keep repeating the slogan over and over again.
That is exactly what occured to me too. He is an Arlen Specter. Arlen Specter only became a Republican because there were no spots open on the Democratic Party. Gomez was obviously going through the same motions as Specter.
I know, hence the wink. It amuses me so that they call Bush conservative let alone equate him with the "tea party".
Don’t be surprised if Begich beggs for Lisa Murkowski to endorse him as a part of a “I’m a post partisan problem solver”. Murkowski may decide to threaten a Begich endorsement to get more pork from Mitch McConnell.
