Oh, OK. That explains a lot. I could get 38 mpg on that drive. What do you get around town? That’s where I got my 23 mpg figure.

I don't recall; I've just been walking when I go around town -- it's a small town and there's no real reason not to (actually been in smaller towns for several years).
Last time I used it around-town when I was in Uni, and going ~10m/day for 30 days (+change) and a trip there and back to the national guard armory (probably 60 mi total for the weekend) would be about 360 mi / mo, I have about a 20G tank, so that's 18 MPG if I filled up once a month, and that sounds a bit too-frequent to me.
*shrug* maybe 27 MPG for pure city driving then? [/guessing]

...one can probably assume they simply burn it for fuel.

And the easterly wind carried the smoke to...

CALIFORNIA!

I pick up the heavy glass spots after Christmas - the red and green ones - for pennies.

The color will come off easily with an SOS steel wool pad.

BRING BACK AMERICAN JOBS.

Then we CONSERVATIVES would NOT buy the products; 'cause they would then COST too much!

Speaking for myself; when I hear/see the word “green” used as anything but a definition of a color...

I'm old enough to remember if anything was GREEN, it had chlorophyll in it!

Yep, when cornered, leftists change the subject.

You don't need a LEFTIST for this ploy.

There are MANY of FR who do the same when their chosen (fill in the blank) snakeoil is not able to defend itself.

It’s important to distinguish when someone is tactically changing the subject, or if they are doing so diplomatically.

At least on FR, much of the time it is for diplomatic reasons. Leftists abhor diplomacy.

Exactly, you get them to buy by making good products. Don’t try to foist CFLs or plug-in cars on us. That might work on liberal dirt worshippers, but not conservatives.

Why do conservatives, who should have a natural inclination toward conservation, have a beef with energy efficiency? It could be tied to the political polarization of the climate change debate.

Exactly, we don't like being forced to do things because of policies based on JUNK science.

Conservatives have no problem conserving energy, when we CHOOSE to do so; many do so in order to save money.

The main savings is with lights that are on 12/7. Our outdoor signs are all now on LED for that purpose.

The main problem with earlier versions was the bright white.
These are really improved. Another thing that is great for us is that the air conditioning is never on overload.

I bought the lights from this outfit:

If the energy efficient stuff is equal in all other respects, like price, everyone would buy it.

Make them bigger? lol I’m 6’9”, and I believe that hybrid cars discriminate against tall people. May I should sue lol I can barely fit in a regular sized car/sedan, so I can only comfortable own trucks or SUVs. Unfortunately, hybrids in those models are exorbitantly high. Guess I should file an ADA complaint against Chevy for the Volt or Toyota for the Prius.
