Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on May 7 at the start of Kerry's two-day trip to Moscow.
Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov announced the meeting as Kerry departed for his first trip to Russia since assuming the top U.S. diplomatic post in January.
The visit comes with the United States and Russia divided over issues including Syria's civil war, foreign adoption, and Washingtons so-called Magnitsky sanctions targeting Russian officials accused of rights abuses.
Kerry is expected to press Moscow to drop its support for Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad amid mounting concerns about the possible use of chemical weapons in the ongoing conflict.
Putin and U.S. President Barack Obama plan to meet next month on the sidelines of the G8 summit in Northern Ireland.
KGB meets with Weather Underground.
What could go wrong?
"We're puttin' the band back together."
I wonder what instructions Putin will give Obama, now that he has flexibility?
Ok Barry you need to destroy those nuclear weapons faster
I bet Kerry bows to him.
I’m not sure what he plans on, but I can count on it being the wrong solution to a left wing world view.
Putin I respect even if he a potential enemy.
Funny; in the post Cold War world communism was defeated if we are to believe popular culture. who won? well one country is represented by a patriot, Christian, respected and feared man who is a strong leader, and the other country is represented by a traitor, liar, elitist from the socialist left.
The Soviet Union may have lost the Cold War, but it is Russia that won it.
Just like Paris in 71 for Kerry.
Deja vu, all over again.
Astute observation right there.
Birds of a feather. No doubt they intend to discuss ways in which the Obama administration can continue to further Russian interests.
There's no shift in direction nor slowing of pace .. the action continues and we are are diverted by (I really hate to say this, but I'm afraid it will turn out to be true ... ), Benghazi and (maybe) a return to Fast and Furious .. surely the immagrant debate and hey ... what about jobs?
See, as I understand things ... we are occupied by things of seeming import while more important (and destructive) things go on behind our backs.
Satan wants God's remnant here in America and he's anxious to get the job done.
The kids don't want Dad and Mom's old time religion anymore and hell has no fear for them.
Communism does not recognize God , noi mastter WHAT we may see and read in the media.
John F'n is SOS because the hag just isn't politician material .. never was, never will be.
Your missing a letter in bows and you need to remove “to”, then I believe your statement will be correct.
hey, John, it’s spelled R-E-S-E-T.
Yo, Putin! I thought you knew better than to associate with No Medals Kerry.
Kerry is going to have his a** presented to him on a platter!!
Probably to arm wrestle Kerry and break his arm off.
Hope Krry doesn’t forget to remind Putin how he was a big hero in Vietnam, and did a lot of secret work for the CIA, which awarded Kerry an authentic CIA jungle hat for going on an imaginary secret mission to Cambodia.
Putin to Lurch: “Did you bring raisins?”
Russia is not in good shape now. Their birth rate is imploding and the old people are dying of alcoholism. And - the glut in natural gas is hurting them big time.
Kerry must be there to accept his “Hero of the Soviet Union” medal that’ was owed to him.
Also, and extremely important, Russia is isolated. The ability to project is limited.
They have some missiles still but getting out of their geographical box is a problem.
It wouldn't surprise me if Vladimir Puting knows more about John Effin' Kerry than John Effin' Kerry knows about himself.
Vlad should get some good laughs out of that!
