Results any minute now?
What’s withElizabeth Colbert Busch having two voting lines? More Voting faud?
Wow. It’s very close...
>>Whats with Elizabeth Colbert Busch having two voting lines? More Voting fraud?
She got the nomination from two different (in name only) parties.
Vote for the lying adulterer! :/
less than 1% in apparently, and Sanford leads.
Charleston will come in last and take him out. They vote until she wins.
It seems like being on two party ballots could hurt her, since it could reduce her numbers as a democrat.
First precinct reporting...
Sanford 57% Colbert 43%
The votes are consolidated.
I actually want to see Sanford lose this. He’s a scumbag.
This seat will flip back next year. No damage can be done between now and then.
If the Sanford wins, they have a poster boy for next year.
If the moron wins, she better cherish every moment of her experience as she has next to no chance of holding the seat next year.
Stay out of the Busches!
Weird,it seems like a candidate could find ways to manipulate such a situation, especially among uninformed urban voters, by running different campaigns on different party platforms.
Colbert ahead with 3% reporting
You're a fool. That's worse than being a "scumbag" (hint: maybe half of Congress commits adultery, possibly more). You don't let filthy communist pigs win ever, period. If the voters don't like Sanford they can turn him out in the next PRIMARY.
SANFORD AHEAD AGAIN!50.4% to 49.1%
He’s good enough for me.
No question that Sanford would have my vote. As Buckley said many times: vote for the most conservative candidate that can win. Colbert is a member of the Democrat party...enough said.
Charleston and Dorchester are the only counties reporting so far. Sanford should have a lot of strength in Beaufort (military presence, Bluffton, Hilton Head). Romney won there with 58.2%.
Big news if Sanford wins this thing without the help of the GOP.
Sanford lead going up as more precincts come in (51.7% reporting):
E. Colbert Busch
Sanford has won.
I just hope that Sanford, if he wins, doesn’t spend any more tax payer money on trips to Argentina. I think it is best for his family that he wins and ends up in Washington DC. His family has suffered enough putting up with his crap. His poor kids had their father break into the house. Let’s put them out of their misery and send him to Washington. That is the main reason I want him to win. He will be the main topic for 2014 with out party but we should be able to overcome it.
Mark Sanford (REP) 52.86%
Elizabeth Colbert Busch (DEM) 43.10%
Elizabeth Colbert Busch (WFM) 3.35%
Eugene Platt (GRN) 0.43%
WRITE-IN (NON) 0.26%
Jesus Christ, are you the ex-wife's lawyer?
Jesus Christ, are you the ex-wife’s lawyer?
No but he will be in court on Thursday for trespassing charges. Those are the facts. After he is found not guilty (I don’t see how he can explain himself) then the House can bring him up on Ethics charges. Isn’t that just great? We have dug ourselves another hole. We seem to love losing it appears. 2012 was bad enough but if we lose because of this deeb in 2014, what have we really won?
They add both totals together under her name.
What are you on? Obviously not what you need to be on, which is chill pills. Ask your doctor if chill pills are right for you.
The comeback was complete when he defeated Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch, the sister of political satirist Stephen Colbert. With 87 percent of the precincts reporting, Sanford had 54 percent of the vote.
Mark Sanford (REP) 52.70%
Elizabeth Colbert Busch (DEM) 43.22%
Elizabeth Colbert Busch (WFM) 3.35%
Eugene Platt (GRN) 0.46%
Write-In (NON) 0.27%
Personally facts are what matter. All I care about is that he does not make himself the main topic of 2014. He was all over the liberal stations this morning. Hopefully he will vote conservative but their is no proof of that.
He voted conservative when he was in Congress before.
Hate on him all you want for adultery but insinuating he’s suddenly a RINO is dishonest and disgusting.
Glad to see Busch lost.
Hate on him all you want for adultery
I don’t hate him for adultery. I find it disappointing that he used tax payer money to go to Argentina to get his rocks off.
Yeah that was wrong. OTOH democrats use taxpayer dollar to bribe illegal aliens to vote for them.
So it wasn’t even close, almost 10 points.
I am relieved ladies and gentleman.
BTW I didn’t know SC had fusion voting. Colbert had the working families party ballot line as well.
“I am relieved ladies and gentleman.”
I figured that people were sandbagging pollsters.
Well, as I said, if we’re gonna send a sinner to Congress, at least let them vote the right way.
Megan McCain is upset, she tweets:
“Really republicans? We’re gonna get behind Mark Sanford and claim gay couples will ruin marriage. This is why young people don’t vote GOP!!!”
as is Nancy Pelosi, if anyone was wondering if we would somehow have been better off if the stalinist had won.
No no Irma time will be a little later. I’m watching that Elway to Marino thing. I didn’t know any of this.
