PENTAGON: Chinese Hackers Have Stolen Data From 'Almost Every Major US Defense Contractor'
Business Insider ^ | May 7, 2013 | Michael kelley

Posted on 05/07/2013 6:11:55 PM PDT by lbryce

For the first time the Obama administration has explicitly accused China’s military of hacking into computer systems of the U.S. government and its defense contractors.

"The accusations relayed in the Pentagon’s annual report to Congress on Chinese military capabilities were remarkable in their directness," writes David Sanger of The New York Times.

Clinton was simply a greedy bastard looking for enough cash to get himself re-elected, while Obama is allowing the Chinese access to our military secrets no money exchanged simply because of the ideology he shares with the Commies and for the purposes of weakening America.

Many of the contractors and govt agencies don’t make it all that difficult.

Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and Al Gore, plus many of the other Democrat leaders of the Clinton years.

How do you spell “TREASON”?

Also, both Bill and Hillary received at least 10 MILLION DOLLARS from the Mob, (i.e. LIUNA, Laborers International Union of No. America), as did the Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee and related causes. Byron York, American Spectator, May 1977 article roughly entitled “Clinton’s Mob Bosses”.

The best greedy bastards and traitors money DID buy.

It’s practically criminal how these morons haven’t locked down their systems. I wonder if the problem is that they are operating with a post-Cold War mindset when the Chinese are every bit as aggressive as the Soviets as regards intelligence gathering.

The Chinese select their hackers like they choose their Olympic athletes. They canvass four and five year olds for potential and if selected the children will spend the rest of their lives learning how to hack and putting these skill to use.

This program started back in the mid 90s and is apparently reaping benefits.

A week ago I heard the Chinese stole ALL data from QinetiQ —everything.

For years the UK had been consolidating all their technical stuff there.

The Chinese took it all.

No its mostly ignorance and money. The rules are incredibly complicated forcing them to spend money on useless documentation instead of things which improve security. As a result they look for ways around the rules.

One of my clients with major govt contracts had all of the money for security cut from the contract. So they cut all of their security people and services.

I had one fortune 50 client who told me I was overstating their risk. They tried proving me wrong but couldn’t.

A month later their security officer watched someone change settings in their firewall from within the system and email data back to china.

It’s a little Bradley Manning kind of world out there. Traitors are a dime a dozen. Nobody is “in charge”. Everything is fair game. Freedom, Privacy, Security, Liberty, everything! Whatever can make you a quick buck and get you your “15 minutes”.

Hackers seem to be outsiders, insofar as their personalities are concerned.

Not sure, if this would hold true for a Chinese youth. But it would not surprise me if these hackers, also tend towards ideas of anarchy.

It might turn out that these Chinese hackers, hack the commie hacks, given, that they could gather personal information, much like an equivalent of an underground CIA.

I’m probably wishing too much. Just a thought.

These acts of treason were committed with the assistance and acquiescence of every senior republican. If it was not so the objectors would have gone public and blocked them. We are being sold out from within.

Thanks to Microsoft, the regime of licenses and lack of continuing self-study. Without many men in tiny enterprises, unimpeded by regulations, very little invention.

China now exports more than America does.

American stores are filled with Chinese manufactured goods.

China is growing and we continue to SEND AMERICAN MANUFACTURING THERE.

Stop it now. For crying out loud. Just stop.

Bring back American manufacturing.

I’ve been to some sites that were security nightmares

hell, I’ve seen people FOB from ‘aggressive’ countries working behind name access only doors.

meanwhile, Hillary’s dept flushed 3m+ classified docs onto the net... and 0bama restarted the ‘Chinese scientist free access pass to the nuke labs’ project (after W shutdown Clinton’s program of the same ilk)

security is a joke these days

This Mandiant report summarizes the Chinese effort to hack almost every important network in the Western World.

Tom Clancy’s latest book used Chinese government based hackers as a major plot point. Super scary stuff. Think control of our electrical grid, nuclear power plants, drones, satellites, missile defense.

As far as China is concerned they are fighting a cold war again the USA, but apparently we don’t care or are willing participants in our own destruction.

We should hire hackers to find out what the Chinese have and to acquire anything of value from their sites, and to hit them with massive denial of service attacks.

They’d likely find that the Chinese mainly had copies of stuff from the Western world and no valuable secrets to speak of.

“For the first time the Obama administration has explicitly accused China’s military of hacking into computer systems of the U.S. government and its defense contractors. “

EPIC FAIL! Sounds like they are helplessly flailing for a solution. Duh...

“The accusations relayed in the Pentagon’s annual report to Congress on Chinese military capabilities were remarkable in their directness,” writes David Sanger of The New York Times.

That may be because the extent of the theft is remarkable in its scope.”

Twenty years ago I was shocked by how many Red Chinese students were in college here; they were loyal Reds, and we were training them.

We still have several advantages.

1. We are more innovative, more creative.

2. Along with the “good stuff”, they have to wade through a lot of crap. If they really have “all” of our stuff, just sorting through it will take them a long time. By then we will have moved further ahead.

3. They have to figure out what to do with it and how. For example, information on how to build nuclear weapons is out there, but look at all the problems the Iranians are having.

Old news. Many contractors are deeply compromised. Between shoddy security policies and PLA operatives on the inside you can bet that they are reading most of our mail. When I worked for DoD there was an almost incomprehensible laxity among the contractors. PRC nationals in sensitive admin roles, PRC-sourced hardware installed on secure networks without testing or oversight and an atmosphere of denial that extended to officially ignoring huge numbers of network penetration attempts. Only when contract rebids were threatened was any remedial action taken. It was madness.

Whatever can make you a quick buck and get you your “15 minutes”.

It's a regular industry for foriegn nationals: get a paycheck here working for a defense contractor and a paycheck back home for passing along info. It's not just the PRC. We had contractors from the UAE, Pakistan, Jordan, and Russia doing it too. The guy from Jordan got caught after he falsified his wife's info: he had to because she was a known Jordanian intelligence agent. This guy had a TS with poly and worked with sensitive material for at least a year. Last I heard he was fighting deportation.

Here’s how it likely works. Any such company is going to have many chinese nationals working for it. Getting stuff done in the technical field and locking information down are almost mutually incompatible. Anybody with a laptop and a thumb drive can pull down a ton of technical information without breaking a sweat. Using any number of incentives the chicoms are probably able to coerce some number of chinese nationals working at the various companies to give them the crown jewels.

AGENDA: Grinding America Down

http://vimeo.com/63749370

There’s a minute and a half promo at the start, but this is a long video you want to send to everyone who isn’t yet convinced. This is the history of the roadmap that was created by the Fabians, the Marxists, the progressives, et al toward the destruction of America. It is on track, and has been successful beyond expectation! This is the video which explains what is in store behind the push for homosexuality being seen as a normal sexual trait and the end of America. Can I say it plainer? Pass it around, if you wish. God bless.
