LONDON - British Prime Minister David Cameron said on Wednesday that there was "a growing body of limited but persuasive information" showing that the Syrian government had used and was continuing to use chemical weapons such as sarin gas.
"The room for doubt about this continues to diminish," Cameron told parliament. "There's an urgent need to start a proper negotiation to force a political transition and to bring this conflict to an end."
Cameron said he would fly to Russia on Friday to discuss the matter with President Vladimir Putin. "In Syria the atrocities continue to mount," he said.

Hmmmmm. Now where have I heard this before?
Off to Russia to see Putin after Kerry's visit.
Assad saw what happened to Gaddafi, after “a political transition” brought the conflict in Libya to an end. Everyone, who is part of the regime in Syria, knows that a “political transition” will mark their transition to another state of being.
Gee! ... Think these “Syrian chemical weapons” could have anything to do with those caravans of trucks heading out of Iraq and into Syria prior to the start of the war? Y’know, the ones the Dems maintained for year upon year had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO with weapons of mass destruction?
Nawwwwwwww! ...
Actually, even the UN and some other international investigative organization said just two days ago that there is no evidence that Assad used chemical weapons; instead, there is evidence that they were used by the “rebels,” that cute new name Obama has given to AQ.
Israel destroyed a lot of Syria’s weapons stocks earlier in the week (I don’t know if some of these were chemical or if it is not possible to destroy chemical weapons safely that way) and on the whole, the response from Assad was pretty routine. There is speculation that he knew in advance (but he was upset at the death of some of his troops) and is actually willing to let them be destroyed in exchange for something, possibly asylum somewhere, because he knows that Syria doesn’t have the capability to secure them from AQ anymore. Just speculation, but it didn’t sound too far-fetched.
One day it’s the Rebels, the next day it’s Assad, I suppose it is dependent on which side you are on.
I am not that sure that anyone used Sarin gas.
Just an excuse to start helping the Muslim Brotherhood.
What an astute observation. Bravo.
I think that we can draw from your observation that the madman of Syria will continue fighting and use whatever weapons he has at his disposal.
The alternative is a painful death.
In my opinion, he will use his weapons against Israel.
Then Israel will destroy Syria, and Damascus in particular.
The Great rule of conduct for us, in regard to foreign Nations is in extending our commercial relations to have with them as little political connection as possible. So far as we have already formed engagements let them be fulfilled, with perfect good faith. Here let us stop. . . .
