Police have started searching properties near the home where three missing women were imprisoned for a decade after one of the victims told police there could be other girls, it has emerged.
Michelle Knight, who was found at the Cleveland home on Monday after being held against her will for more than 10 years, said that there was another girl at the home around 10 years ago.
But Knight, who herself was kidnapped in 2002, said the victim then disappeared.
In police interviews she added that she did not know how many other women were in the house because they were all locked in separate rooms, Fox News reported.
The details could give hope to the family of Ashley Summer, who was 14 when she vanished on July 6, 2007 in the same neighborhood from where Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus were taken.

He kept the women locked in a 1,200 square foot basement for years before transferring them to the second floor.
In either case, that house is over a hundred years old, and built so solid that noise inside was easily concealed. There was also the beatings and terror he inflicted on these women for so long. They were terrified he'd kill them if they tried to escape, or did anything to try and tip off outsiders.
One article even said that he'd installed some sort of heavy storm door inside the house. I presume that door led to some area where the women were held captive.
Apparently, the authorities are doing just that, hence the posted article. I have a feeling that before this is all over, Castro's going to start singing like a bird, and lots more will come out.
The three freed women will probably help investigators tie the loose ends of unsolved missing persons cases to this guy. This thing is just getting started, I'll bet.

It's been established that the three Castro brothers were born here. It's their father who originally moved to the mainland from Puerto Rico.

I heard today on Greta that this schmuck has been “Smirking” a lot in prison..seems to be enjoying himself..wrote a suicide note a few years ago blaming the victims for “Getting into his car” and his horrible childhood..oh boo boo..just fry this guy..make him into a crispy critter..oh and I can pretty much guarantee this jackass has kidnapped more women before, you don’t wake up one day in 2003 and decide to snatch someone off the street
I do not care how well built the house is. You cannot tell me that nobody in the family knew about this. So yeah they had a 1200 foot basement. So what?
Nobody ever asked “Hey dad, why can’t I go down there in the basement with you where you spend so much time?”
Nobody ever asked “How come it looks like we buy food for three or 4 more people?”

I think I heard that Gina DeJesus was a friend of Ariel Castro’s daughter.
Read yesterday in an interview with the 30+ year old son, that the Mother moved the son and two sisters out in 1993 after years of abuse. The son said he’d hardly be back at the house, maybe a few times a year for short visits. So, it’s not like the scum’s family was living there all this time he had the women in the basement.
Not only was he the father of her close friend, but he was also her bus driver.
I think the mother and kids had moved out.
But yeah, I understand your skepticism. There’s another story where he so tortured his ex-wife that she went and the kids went to live with her new boyfriend’s family. Then the father put the daughters up to accusing him of sex abuse.
It took the son, the one who had written a news story about the abductions, to clear the boyfriend’s name by testifying that the father had just made it all up.
Oh, and then the FBI suspected the boyfriend of the abductions. He told them that Castro was the real monster, who with his pattern of chaining and abusing his wife was the one who should be checked out—but the FBI declined to investigate him.
There is so much ignorance around in the media today. I was listening to the press conference yesterday while driving home. I was literally cringing over the questions. I find myself cringing over a lot of posts by people who have not been paying attention or taking ten seconds to find out the true story.
It’s almost not worth reading comments anymore.

Get some sleep, take a sip of coffee and look up the meaning of “sarcasm” and “irony”.
It’s so absolutely implausible that the other brothers knew nothing or were innocent. BTW, how many sets of fifty something brothers do you know who all live in the same house? How the hell could they not know? If I was the DA, I’d be more inclined to indict the mailman than free the brothers.
