Benghazi Whistleblower: I Was ‘Demoted’ After Questioning Susan Rice’s Talking Points
The Blaze ^ | 5/8/13 | Madeleine Morgenstern

Posted on 05/08/2013 9:59:10 PM PDT by Nachum

A former top U.S. diplomat in Libya said he was effectively “demoted” after questioning United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice’s explanation that the deadly Benghazi attack was the result of a protest over a video.

Gregory Hicks, the former deputy chief of mission under slain Ambassador Christopher Stevens, now holds the title of foreign affairs officer in the Office of Global Intergovernmental Affairs — an almost catch-all designation.

“I’ve been effectively demoted from deputy chief of mission,” Hicks said.

He testified to members of the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday that he was “stunned” and “embarrassed” upon hearing Rice blame an anti-Islam YouTube video for the assault. He said he voiced his concerns, and upon returning to the U.S. received a “blistering critique” of his management style — after having recently been praised by President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

I watched CBS evening news and they said nobody could have gotten there in time and that everyone was very sad but it would have taken 9 hours to get jets in the air and then they would have to fly two hours after that. And that nobody in the administration had enough information to send any troops in harms way...and if they had known there would be a second protest by the mob they might have made a different decision. So I guess that is all there is to it right?

The whistleblower is fortunate he wasn’t “suicided”.

Hillary was the first to use the "Youtube video" excuse.

10:38-39 p.m., 9/11/12. @StateDept tweets: " #SecClinton: I condemn in the strongest terms the attack on our mission in Benghazi today. http://state.gov #Libya" and "#SecClinton: We have confirmed one @StateDept officer was killed in #Libya. We are heartbroken by this terrible loss." Hillary Clinton issues a statement, saying, "I condemn in the strongest terms the attack on our mission in Benghazi today. As we work to secure our personnel and facilities, we have confirmed that one of our State Department officers was killed. We are heartbroken by this terrible loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and those who have suffered in this attack." She adds: "Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet. The United States deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. Our commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear: There is never any justification for violent acts of this kind."

That was when Hillary herself took over the Cairo embassy Twitter account and personally posted. (anyone who thinks she wasn't directing the earlier Tweets is smoking something) That was at 10:38 PM Eastern Time. That would have been 4:38 AM Sept. 13th in Benghazi. About the time Woods and Doherty were making their last stand.

Nine hours to “get jets in the air”?? The terminally stupid will believe. Of course that’s the 53% of us that voted him in twice.

That idiot Madcow was attacking The Blaze.
Heck even my idiot senator republican Corker said he accepts the State Dept’s investigation.
It will take a miracle for this scandal to go nuclear.

I'll bet if I had the right radio and was pretending to be AirBoss, and I said "GO, GO, GO!" within 45 seconds, you would hear jet engines winding up and 2 minutes later, pubic affairs {that was intended} would be dealing with calls about broken windows from the sonic booms.

Yeah, they are full of crap. If I was local O-god with a star or 3, I'd have AC orbiting and tankers stacked up and ready to go. It's not like everyone in the theater doesn't get morning briefings.

Bunker drills aren't anything but flight hours to fighter pilots.

Just as easy to keep them in the air and burn training hours as sit on the ground.

We knew that. That's not news. I think it's so funny that you think that we didn't know that.

Was over on the Yahoo news page ....nothing.

The MSM is in full total coverup mode.

They are mostly not even denouncing the story, they have found that the best way is to totally ignore and say NOTHING if it doesn’t help the dems. Total silence. It seems to work - that attitude got Obama elected, the most inept, self-absorbed president in history. We are going to be paying for years for the havoc he is wreaking in the ME.

If the press covers the story at all, it is bascially, evil Republicans are trying to hurt Hillary and they are so stupid. Then a few lines at the bottom about how a whole bunch of our people died because no one at the State dept or WH seemed to have any idea about it or to know anything, but nobody should think about that...

Committee members praised those giving testimony and expressed the unanimous wish that whistleblowers not be penalized, but after Hicks’ disclosure of his demotion after questioning Rice’s lies, none of them said they would or could do anything about it.

“....but after Hicks’ disclosure of his demotion after questioning Rice’s lies, none of them said they would or could do anything about it.”

But the ‘teacher’ who stomped on the American flag gets reinstated and gets an $85,000 settlement. We live in an oligarchy.

Not to mention that on the State dept. Web site they had
posted for travelers there were no threats for Sept 11th anniversary, probably because of increased security around the world. But in a hotbed of al-Qaeda attacks against British diplomats,American red cross, the mission in Benghazi already had been attacked before,Ambassador Stevens had written in his own diary he was afraid for his life because of a lack of security, and you tell me no one ,nothing could get there in time? First, how the hell do you know ahead of time you can’t get there in time? Unless you don’t want to get there in time. This is really pathetic
