"Jay Carney On Obamas Trip To Austin: Well, Why Not Texas? Austin Is A Hub Of Innovation And Technology
Austin is well known to be a puddle of blue in a mostly red state. He’ll have many friends there.
Austin is also the hub to Texas liberals. Perfect place for king hussein to visit. Lot’s of progressive “thinkers” there. Rick Perry ought to be out of town hunting for the occasion. Heard there may be some “very large hail” in Texas today too.
Remember that nobody has a success so great that Obama will not try to claim credit for it.
If friendly UFO aliens landed on Earth and gave mankind technologies far in advance of our own, Obama would claim credit for it.
Of course, if they were hostile aliens who ravaged cities, he would not only blame W. Bush, but invite the aliens to stay and ravage more, “because of their contribution to our diversity.”
The city of Autism. I live north a bit and very rarely venture into Travis County.
The Dems are so stupid, they think Austin is part of Texas, when it of course belongs to the People’s Republic of California.
Austin is a leftard cancer node in the otherwise great state of Texas.
Austin is a Marxists/Democrat/Communists dream, no wonder Zer0 wanted to visit.
He wouldn’t step foot in say Midland or Odessa. They would eat him alive and toss the remains to the vultures.
Well except for the south part of the State which might as well be in Meh-Hee-Co.
North and west a bit more. Western Williamson county.
Austin is a suburb of Madison Wisc.
Austin is the San Francisco of the south.
I would venture to guess that most state capitols are blue by the virtue of all the guv’ment workers on the dole.
..........I can walk out my door, turn right and walk 68’ and cross over the Burnet County/Travis County line. LOL, the air does seem a little fresher 69’ down the street in Burnet County, a conservative bastion.
That said, I have spent 62 of my 65 years here and as big cities go Austin has to be at the top nationwide. I’ve never been in a better place to live (big city) and I have been a lot of places. Bear in mind too that “conservatism”, particularly in the form of the Texas Legislature, has kept the lefties worst tendencies on a leash for decades. So, there are a lot of conservatives in Austin too.
Plus Austin is a college town.
Yeah, looks like a hunnert and sixty-five years later the mexicans pushed the boundary back up to the Nueces.
Driving through on the way to get my daughter from UNT this afternoon. Thinking about just going up 281 to avoid the lines of idiot drivers leaving UT and Baylor.
Maybe that line in Full Metal Jacket was right, “Only two things come from Texas....steers and queers.”
