House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, called on the president to release interagency emails detailing the response to the attack in Benghazi and the administration's potential role in changing the talking points about the attack "so we can get to the truth of what happened." He also promised "There's going to be more hearings" on the subject.

If Fox news didn’t exist we would never have learned about the Boston Marathon Bombings.

They would have been reported as : restaurant appliance malfunctions due to improper use.

Hopefully you will FORCE compliance John. Not call people and make excuses when they tell you to pound salt. No, I do not trust you Mr. Speaker. When you give me a reason to, that will change.

Waddayasay we ask John to go on the wagon for the duration? This guy can't keep it straight for more than a few hours?

Or maybe just enough to keep him from the shakes, or crying.

The crier doesn’t want to set up a select committee because his power base is the committee chairman. They don’t want one select committee because they want to chair separate hearings. As always with these beltway GOP leaders, it’s about themselves and not the country.

I agree! Saying there will be more hearings means nothing. He should be demanding answers and outrage at what we know already.

Easily one of the biggest disappointments in modern political leadership history. Had high hopes for him at one time, but that hope was clearly misplaced. Another dime-store status quo hack politician.

Why take it out of Issa's Oversight? He's doing a good job IMO.

Where’s the voice of the Senate Republicans? McConnell, McCain, Graham, Collins, Rubio should be on the steps of the Capitol in front of cameras demanding Harry Reid schedule hearings. Instead they are collaborating with Reid to shove amnesty down our throats.

I have no faith in Boenher, McConnell and the rest of that facakta carnival running Disneyland on the Potomac, other than our new young turks in the Senate....

What will it take?

One of the witnesses to be to break all protocal and give testimony that will potentially put them in jail and just spill all the top secret classified stuff, because we know this is where the who what when where why is, and potentially who dropped the friggen ball and WHY...

If Daniel Bleeping Elsberg can get away with it, why can't one of these guys...

Yep, these things just seem to disappear into the ether. Nobody is punished and everybody goes back to watching Honey Boo Boo.

Issa is doing a good job, but I'll let Congressman Frank Wolf explain why a House Select Committee is better:

However, the hearing also made clear that a thorough inquiry will require witnesses from across government – including the Defense Department, State Department, Intelligence Community, Justice Department and even the White House. Only a Select Committee would be able to bring the cross-jurisdictional expertise and subpoena authority to compel answers from these agencies.

His very informative letter can be read in its entirety here: Wolf Renews Call For Select Committee On Benghazi In Letter To Boehner

Thanks for the info.

My thought is that Issa should continue for awhile as he has been effective in building momentum.

If the story continues and it looks obvious that requests for documents and witness are not going to be complied with...that would be the time to announce a select committee.

To do so prematurely will look like a witch-hunt to the public (from whom support will be needed for this whole thing to really go anywhere).

He’s keeping it vague while he does more polling, considers the bribes that are coming in, considers what the WH may try to blackmail him with...

Worst Republican Speaker of all time.

That threshold has long since been crossed. White House, State, DOD and other agencies are withholding requested documents and preventing access to witnesses, per Issa.

” Worst Republican Speaker of all time.”

Fitting that he is two heartbeats away from the "Worst President" of all time and probably the "Worst Vice President" of all time.

So one might say we have the "WORST LEADERS" in our life times.

I’m sure these new hearings will promise to end careers of Obama, Clinton, Democrat control of the Senate, end Democrat mayors in all major cities, end the Muslim Brotherhood, global warming and saying the Hail Mary.

Nah! Just hand out 10 million more Obamaphones, extend jobless benefits to 5 years, then put the recipient on SSI Disability, give every family an automatic $350 a month in EBT cards, pay off all student loans, and import and register 20 Million more multi-voters. BTW, learn Spanish so you can explain conservatism to illegal aliens.

BTW, Team Obama ain't all that worried about us Homophobic Honkies.
