Report: RNC scrapped pre-election Benghazi ad; Conservatives demand to know why

Twitchy Staff

Did the RNC make a big mistake last fall? A new report by ABC News’ Jonathan Karl has many conservatives seeing red.

Johnatha Karl, ABC News, reports that this ad was put together by the RNC last fall but was “scrapped at the last minute because of objections from the Romney campaign, which was concerned the ad would distract from Romney’s efforts to focus on the economy.”

Regardless of whether or not the Romney campaign actually played a role in the RNC’s final decision, many conservatives are frustrated and angry with the RNC for keeping the ad buried at a time when the American public needed to know the truth: ...

I think the RNC is just another branch of the DNC.

BTW, I don't think there's any political solution to America's problems.

We'll either part ways with each other under a mutual agreement or there will be horrific bloodshed. Either way, all sides cannot continue to peacefully occupy the same country.

Unfortunately...we can already tell why. Look how the hearings were reported - either not at all, or reported as a partisan witch hunt with no information provided as to the testimony from the witnesses.

A new one with the somber testimony interposed with Hillary saying “What difference does it make???!!!” would be effective.

Yes, it is depressing. Then again, you’ll get to shoot- for a reason to the season. Salt your illusions, they’ll keep. Where ever you’ve thought you lived, is well gone and drying.

And, due to the hurricane and the media focus on it, it is likely that no stations would have ran the ad until Election day itself.

I agree -— in fact it says so in the same words on my Campaign website.

Want to back a Tea Party Constitutional Conservative, Veteran, Small Business Owner, Job Creator in a Primary Challenge to a 20yr incumbent for a seat in the US House? I could really use the contributions and help!

As an “unknown from nowhere” -— a Private Practice Veterinarian from the small town of Bowie, TX -— I was able to earn 22% of the vote in my first ever campaign, with volunteer help that was as inexperienced as I was, throughout my 40+ County District in 2012. With the name recognition I have earned through the hard work of the last campaign, plus the new contacts I am making daily, I know that a WIN is possible.

An article appeared a few days ago warning GOP members not to showboat. That warning rang so true when thinking about McCain and Graham.

Whenever there’s an important issue breaking to the Right’s advantage, the Left enlists those two morons to vomit excessively so to diffuse any legs the issue might have.

This is why McCain and Graham hate Cruz. Cruz has the smarts and the guts to play smashmouth politics against the scumbag Democrats. McCain and Graham, as we have seen in the past couple of days, have no problem voting WITH the scumbag Democrats.

So Christie could play suckup for relief efforts?

I think the R Party is as infiltrated with Liberal demorats

I've seen that coming for a while now. If anybody thinks it's not beyond
the evil of the left, well, you don't know the left that well.

The GOP needs a serious purge as much as the State department and the Pentagon.

This could be total BS fabricated by the media (ABC) or the DEMS, for what purpose is yet to be seen, since the RNC already look like complete idiots. Hell, anyone could put that together and say ‘LOOK! we had this ready and it was scrapped!” PROVE it was complete BEFORE November 8. This is prbably the same BS as the guy who phoned in with “evidence”. BS Seems more likely someone (OBAMA) needs a distraction. I don’t trust the mass media - they’re paid puppets of the DEMs.

Yes. And this is both a sign and a cause of America's becoming more and more like Europe.

Next step downward: multiple splinter parties and coalition governments.

Next after that: dismantling of large chunks of the Constitution as "outdated" and "not in keeping with current political realities"...

NO Cheers, unfortunately.

BTW, good analysis in post #43, nathan.

Romney didn't blast Candy (Fatass) Crowley when she defended Obama during the debate. It all makes you wonder who the GOP really is?
All this “defund” Obamacare is also crap. All the GOP controlled House has to do is don't allocate any funds to anything connected to Obamacare.

Actually, they don't really need to. It'll generate buzz on its own and probably go viral. Even Dem wannabe Joe Scarborough was talking about it on MSDNC this a.m.

It was a good ad. But I don’t think most Americans would have had any idea what it was about. Most still don’t. It wouldn’t have made any difference. The other side cheated so extravagantly that no commercial could have turned the tide.

The forces of evil won. I do not know why God permitted this, but a commercial would not have made any difference.
