The genie is out of the bottle and there is no stopping it now. Heres a link to the file. I scanned it after download and it came up clean. Enjoy! https://mega.co.nz/#!JplQVDDQ!Qi8kflIn8kMZl0hK96YW1h7RIc9vz2SfErzB-7qRV-0
The original site reached 100,000 downloads about 12 hours ago.
All you have to do is go to Piratebay and search for liberator under other.
I count a total 1460 live seeders up right this second pumping that file to every corner of the world!
This is setting up to be a battle royale. Unfortunately, this action on the part of the Feds will increase the price of 3D printing for a considerable time, perhaps long enough for them to control it.
Expect a printed semi-auto pistol within one year
How will this action increase the cost of 3D printing?
When it was fired for the first (and only?) time, it was fired from a distance by way of a string tied to the trigger. The young man pulling the trigger with the string said that he was an engineer.
Because the Feds can make it difficult to simply do business: audits, illegitimate raids, harrassment, striking fear, and various other tactics that drive people from a legitimate business.
Kudos to Kim Dotcom!
I agree but they haven’t directly targeted 3D printing...yet.
All these guys were doing is posting CAD files. Anyone can do this anonymously and host the files in some other country.
Oh yes, got it on two torrent sites.
I agree but they havent directly targeted 3D printing...yet.
***Well, they sure as hell seem to be in process on that target. Did you read the article?
Ping me if you get the link. I want to upload the file(s) to my website.
Utterly predictable contravention of The Constitution.
I did. So far no calls for regulating 3D printing itself. Only calls for outlawing printed guns.
Once they outlaw the guns I think they will follow the music/movie piracy scheme: Pick people at random who download the files and have records of actually owning 3D printers. Then raid them to make a very public example
I think the best one was the fellow who had RSA in 3 lines of Perl tattooed on his arm.
I've said a number of times that before all this is over we're going to be sharing fighting holes with some rather odd allies. Freedom is like that.
I hope what you say is true. I hope their resources are limited.
But the obvious constitutional affront goes unaddressed. This is a combination of 1st amendment and 2nd amendment rights.
So maybe Congress will soon see a bill for requiring permits for prospective 3D printer buyers.
it’s on Pirate Bay, as usual. LOL.
And Freepers frown at the use of bit torrent...
If anyone downloads via bittorrent...it’s ALL available on PirateBay, all 6 versions of the DEFCAD process, including the Liberator. F Nuttlylitano..
So far no calls for regulating 3D printing itself. Only calls for outlawing printed guns.
***Calling for the outlawing of the OUTPUT of a 3D printer is the same as calling for the outlawing of the device itself.
“I think I was #37488...
Ive already passed on copies as well.”
Heck, it;s already on the torrent sites hehe, just make sure to use a different IP address.
A great Communist said “power flows from the barrel of a gun.”
So they use theirs to take his.
It was also fired hand held as seen in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=drPz6n6UXQY
Here we go guys.
You can put together a decent shop for about the same cost as this guy's fancy printer and make practically any gun you want. The only reason few people do is because factory guns are still relatively easy to get. Even with no shop experience, you can learn enough in about a month.
More than anything, I suspect this little plastic gun caused a stir because of dictators and slave owners around the world worried about their subjects getting one. Just like the original "liberator" it is only good for assassinations and sneak attacks. They probably frantically called Obama to “fix it”. This is why it cites “defense trade controls”.
Just so you could say ...
My ass is a lethal weapon!
I think Obama is afraid history will repeat itself such as Lincoln and Booth at the theater, and we all know how much Obama thinks he is a reincarnated Lincoln.
So its just a shot in the dark so to speak that Obama fears an assassin using a printed gun against him, and so he just hits the panic button, plus he needs a diversion from Bengazi.
I’d have told them “FU!” You have no such jurisdiction!
There is no particular law being violated.
Assertions to the contrary are FRAUDULENT!
The product is LEGAL!
The information is widely available.
We need a few of the 60,000 who have already download it, to take turns posting it.
Cat, bag - out, n Each.
Boo hoo for you Fedtards.
Note to the citizenry: Due to sequestration elements of the first ID will be quartered in your spare bedroom.
Hope they like generic beans and franks, unless they’re bringing their own rations.
NEVER piss off the cook.
Thanks for the link to the video. Without sound relevant to the video, it was hard to tell whether he really fired it. It was an artistic music video, though.
Not yet. Now how can I hide my metalwork machines? 3D printers don't weigh many hundreds of pounds and are easier to hide.
I downloaded it from the pirate bay. Here’s the link:
Of course, you’ll first need to install a P2P bit torrent program to handle the torrent file. I would recommend µTorrent or Vuze, but they’ve become quite cumbersome and laden with advertisements, lately. So, if you don’t already have a bit torrent downloader, you might give Tixati a try:
But it landed his thread. Not sure why.
I know I'm a lousy typist but can't help but wonder where this post will land...
See comment #92.
Todays Day by Day cartoon has the link to the Piratebay torrent.
I’m on my iPad or I’d copy the link...
8700 right now, this is going to come off the internet about the same time the wikileak files will and that will be the day the sun explodes. Some people never learn.
> ...first day saw 50,000 downloads of the plans.
It’s probably a thousand times that number by now just from folks sharing the file around the world.
Cat. Now, out of bag.
What hubris they have, thinking that only Americans would have the knowledge and/or technological prowess to create such...marvels.
