Radical Muslim Cleric in Gaza: “Palestine” Was Never Jewish

Israel has no right to exist, a radical Muslim cleric visiting Gaza declared on Thursday, encouraging rocket attacks on the Jewish State.

Yusuf al-Qaradawi warned that nobody was allowed to cede “any part of Palestine” during his visit to the Hamas-controlled region, according to AFP.

“No one is allowed to give up any part of Palestine,” the Egyptian-born Qardawi said during a meeting with Gaza’s prime minister Ismail Haniyeh and members of the government.

Qaradawi, who is a citizen of Qatar and close to the Muslim Brotherhood, was heading of a delegation of 50 clerics from 14 countries.

“Palestine was never Jewish,” he said. “Palestine is Arab and Muslim and will remain Arab and Muslim, and Islam will prevail.” …

We should be the ones to do it, since we are still the Great Satan in their eyes. They see Israel as an extension of the USA, thanks to their Nazified propaganda. (But apparently we have a POTUS that has vowed to stand with them instead of the country he leads . . .)

Maybe my eyes are getting worse, but I recall that the Bible promises all the land between the Nile and the Euphrates to the Israelites. If that’s in there, then I apologize. Besides, even a new sea wouldn’t keep radicals out if the native population is too liberal to resist them.

Radical Muslim Cleric in Gaza: “Palestine” Was Never Jewish

There was never a country known as "Palestine." unless it's the "country formerly known as 'the Levant'".

"Palestinians" didn't exist until 1974, either.

"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct 'Palestinian people' to oppose Zionism."
PLO executive committee member Zahir Muhsein, March 31, 1977

Goliath was a Philistine.

http://www.levitt.com/essays/palestine.html

“The term Palestine is rarely used in the Old Testament, and when it is, it refers specifically to the southwestern coastal area of Israel occupied by the Philistines. It is a translation of the Hebrew word “Pelesheth.”

The term is never used to refer to the whole land occupied by Israel. Before Israel occupied the land, it would be generally accurate to say that the southwestern coastal area was called Philistia (the Way of the Philistines, or Palestine), while the central highlands were called Canaan. Both the Canaanites and the Philistines had disappeared as distinct peoples at least by the time of the Babylonian Captivity of Judea (586 B.C.), and they no longer exist.

In the New Testament, the term Palestine is never used.”

And interesting that the modern “Palesinians” pick up the name from Goliath. Even back then they didn’t keep their word. The deal was that if Goliath lost, his army would become slaves to David, and vice-versa. But - when Goliath was killed, the Philistines ran away.

During a meeting of the UN the Israeli delegate stood up and said: We have definite proof that it was the Palestinians that broke the original ten commandments." The Palestinian delegate immediately jumped up and said: "There were no Palestinians anywhere near Mt. Sinai at the time."

The Israeli delegate smiled and said: "Good now that we have settled who was there first...."

Genesis 15:18

God made this with Abraham and his descendants

Which most of the world will argue includes folks besides just Jews who claim to come from Issac

He had another son Ishmael that comes to mind

Ishmael was Isaac’s half-brother and not an heir of Abraham. None of Abraham’s children from Keturah were heirs of Isaac’s stature either. It’s true that the lost ten tribes also have a claim to the land, but they still don’t know who they are.

Interestingly enough the name “Philistines” is of Semitic origin (they were Indo-European speakers) and means “invaders”.

The evidence suggests they were from the Aegean region, the same as Greeks and Thracians. Do you consider them “Hamites”?

What evidence do you speak of? Israel Finkelstein’s claims? Perhaps so. Their heritage is distinct from Javan (a Japhethite), who according to Josephus was the ancestor of the Greeks.

The Bible says that the Philistines came from the Casluhim, who in turn came from the Mizraim (Egyptians), descended from Ham. That’s where I get “Hamite” from, especially distinct from Semite (descended from Shem).

Sure thing.
And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan. … And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim, / And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.

Genesis 10:6, 13-14
Doesn’t give their ancestral lands. The Mizraim settled in Egypt, of course, and that stays reflected in even the Arabic name Masry.

Whatever their ancestry, they came to the land as invaders from the Aegian. Hardly a good claim to the land. And the Palestinians are Arabs anyway, not descendants of Philistines.

The modern-day “Palestinians” are certainly Arabs. Their name is a pretense, and so admitted by Zuheir Mohsen back in 1977.

I certainly agree as to the invalid claims to Israel by the original Philistines, never mind today’s “Palestinians”.

He crossed the border via Egypt, apparently at the Rafiah crossing. It is very unusual for foreigners to be allowed to cross there. The crossing is regulated by the provisions of the Israel/Egypt peace treaty, and Egypt does not formally allow anything in or out without mutual agreement.

It would appear that Israel has not officially objected, just as they allowed the Emir of Qatar to visit Gaza. Qatar is very crucial to the USA’s policy, and the Syria situation, etc.

Later on, of course, the consequences of indulging Qatar will become evident. But not yet.
