A nationwide ammunition shortage has police departments across the country counting their bullets. It's no different in Proctor, where the Chief says he was told he'd have to wait months, even a year to get more ammo.
. . . .
With the Proctor Police Department in need of ammunition, the Chief sent out a call asking for help.

What do they really need the ammo for? We know law enforcement doesn’t get that much range time and there are only so many dogs to shoot.
Wait. The same police departments that are standing should-to-shoulder with Obama on gun confiscation and making public pronouncements that no one should own black guns is now asking for bullets from evil gun owners? Do I have this right??
Now that’s funny!! unfortunately...
Yeah, is this Al Franken? You got any good ammo deals? What? Hello?
Are these the guys among those who are asking?
SKS?
This Bravo Sierra, pure an simple. The Duluth area is a liberal/communist stronghold in MN. They actually believe that if they lie about not being able to get ammunition for law enforcement, the public will vouluntarily sell theirs to the cops. This is nothing more than a badly veiled attempt to get as much ammo out of the hands of citizens as possible.
If I can (and do) buy .40 SW ammo every week, why can’t they?
Where are you getting .577/450?
Or are you forming the cases yourself from another cartridge?
Deputize me... let me purchase full auto on department letterhead then I will hook you up with some .40 Short and Wussie!
it’s spelled Duluth!!
Proctor is a very small city at most 10 cops total
I have 2 ancient boxes. I can’t remember from where.
I have read people form the cases from 28 gauge cases, but I haven’t tried yet.

I would rather have the ammo in the hands of American citizens than in the hands of the police. The response time for ammo is around 1200 fps, while the response time for police is 10-100 minutes. The police don’t need ammo to take a report after the fact.
Last I saw, the remaining original Kynoch-manufactured stuff was selling for $20 PER ROUND.
Scene from ZULU DAWN...
Soldier #1: Point 577! smashes em! Flattens out!
Soldier #2: But the bullets run out! The bloody spears don’t!
Wow! That’s what I paid for my 2 boxes and I thought I got ripped!

Now all you’ve gotta do is find all-brass 24-guage shotgun shells.
Why, so they can shoot my dog or turn on the US citizens when hussein gives the order? Uh, no.
Someone needs to tell the chief that he needs to learn to reload.
“Would you sell your ammo to your local police force?”
Nope- we got this here recession on. I got to look after me and mine!
