Thoughts on Benghazi from a long time Freeper.

The Big Picture
Obama is almost certainly deep in debt to the Saudis. The Saudis are battling Iran for control of the Middle East, North Africa. So we are backing the Saudis against Iran, Al Quida and other militant Shiite groups. Why we care about the Saudis, other than oil, is a mystery to me, but we have been backing the Saudis long before Obama took office. (It should be noted that were the Saudis to stop accepting US dollars for oil, the world would have little use for US dollars. )

What is Missing From This Picture.
Now here is where things get confusing. Who would want to kill Ambassador Stevens? Stevens was our point man in helping Libya over throw Gaddafi, surely that earned him a great deal of good will with local militia. Also it has been reliably reported that Stevens was arming rebels in Syria. Should Syria fall it opens the door to the Muslim Brotherhood. Bad for the USA and bad for Israel. But who in Benghazi would want him dead? Whoever is responsible for the attack must have had a great deal of influence, since the militia guarding him abandoned him and the militia manning the check points allowed the attackers freedom of movement. Pulling that attack off requires a great deal of planning and cooperations amongst several different militia groups. I have also read that the mortar fire at the annex was very accurate which indicates planning. I am still curious about why the mortar stopped after killing the two navy seals? Perhaps the story about illuminating the mortar position via laser is true.

Some claim the idea was not to kill him but to kidnap him. If so why attack the annex after Stevens was known to be dead? Were there a lot of arms at the annex? Was it the same attackers that killed Stevens that attacked the annex? Something is missing from this story that would explain the nights events. I have watched just about everyone dance around the question of why our consulate and annex were attacked and why our ambassador was murdered.

Questions That Need an Answer
After 911 is was SOP for the Bush administration to go on heightened security on the anniversary of 911, why in the world would we not be on heightened security? Someone had to reverse the Bush policy on 911. Who and why?

I would also like a “who and why” on over all security at Benghazi after repeated warning and requests.

Most of all I want a “who and why” on why no military action was undertaken. No one knew how long the firefight at the annex would last so why was no action taken? To me that is the “off with their head” question.

I don't need a why on the cover up, that is perfectly clear, but I would like a “who” or more correctly lots of whos. Did Susan Rice know the “talking points” were BS? We at FR knew it, did she? Clearly Hillary knew and Obama must have know too. Did Jay Carry know he was lying to the American people?

And lastly why has it been American policy ever since Bush 1 to carry water for the Saudis? There is lots of oil in this world. We don't need Saudi oil we need a sane energy policy of Drill Baby Drill.

Feel free to add to this list of questions if you think I've missed some. Also feel free to try and answer some if you are knowledgeable.

Nicely put, and all you’ve said makes sense, however an end to the petrodollar system is coming. I rather we prepare for it then get drawn into a world war over it.

"Next up: planes start falling out of the sky if some jihad’s demand of the day is not met.

I could be out of date here but I don't think a shoulder fired missile can hit a jet liner above 5,000 feet. The danger would be during take offs and landings.

I think Stevens’ death was an accident.

There was a well-prepared assault on the “CIA annex” (which wasn’t annexed to anything), to reduce it and remove the contents of the “warehouse”. The events at the “consulate” (which wasn’t a consulate) were a diversion to draw off defensive forces from the main target, which succeeded.

They did not expect Woods and Doherty to put up a fight at the “consulate”. This escalated things to the point that the building burned, with Stevens locked in a very unsafe safe room, where he died of smoke inhalation.

The purpose of the operation had zero to do with Stevens, and everything to do with the “warehouse”, which was stripped to the walls.

"Benghazi will not lead to impeachment"

Certainly not with this Senate, but there is more to this Benghazi business then we currently know. It is not adding up with the info available at this time.

Ms. Rice is a PHOTOGENIC black woman. It would be politically incorrect to doubt her, at least in the beginning. Just what does the U.N Rep have to do with U.S. Policy and the State Department? Would you have sent Hillary on those Sunday shows? It cost Ms. Rice her promotion to SOS.

There is going to be a world war. We might just as well accept it, prepare for it, and be resigned to endure the severe damage and aftermath.

Saudi Arabia, is not our enemy. China, Russia (by choice), and most of the Middle-East other than Saudi Arabia will be.

China is maneuvering to shut off access to the Indian Ocean from the Eastern End. The Somalian pirates are demonstrating what may be our future on the Western end, particularly if China supplies them with top level munitions.

We are right now in the post WWI mode as it relates to paring down our armed forces. We are making exactly the same mistakes we made prior to WWII.

It’s only a matter of time. When other nations get the impression we are not only weak, but don’t have the will to wage war to victory, we will be hit with a coordinated attack that will render us severely damaged.

Peace through strength, it’s not an empty phrase.

Peace through capitulation and trying to be nice to everyone, is.

Perhaps, timing seems very wrong though, I still think there is something else going on.

In five years, the US will be making enough frakked oil to make the Saudi’s ability to determine the value of the dollar moot.

In the meantime, the dollar is propping up the world simply because we suck less then everybody else (the old “when america gets a cold the rest of the world gets pneumonia” argument).

I suppose you could make the argument for the buddy buddy handholding with Saudi from the OPEC debacle in the late 70’s until now. Going forward, that argument won’t exist for much longer. Nation States very rarely continue such relationships when the quid loses its quo.

I don’t disagree with your points about Benghazi. I just wanted to make the argument that IF Saudi were to stop taking dollars today, it wouldn’t destroy the dollar now and in five years, it almost wouldn’t matter anyway.

Today is the day they captured Eichmann. The monster was caught, put on trial and executed as he should have been.

According to testimony ....they were told to ‘stand down.’
According to testimony...action was being taken and then ordered to stop. This more than bother’s me, it bugs me, it makes me very uneasy with the regime who didn’t want to get their hands bloody that night.

The Saudi’s, yes the Saudi’s an ever troublesome square peg that doesn’t fit in the round hole. Who brought down the WTC? They were Saudi’s. Who was the mystery man in Boston that got the visit from Michelle Obama? A known Saudi terrorist. We keep this enemy much too close.

Obama is planning this, as best he can.

Yes, I believe he is. And yet not one Republican leader stands up and tells it like it is.

BINGO! Sending Rice out, who had zero to do with Benghazi, screamed COVER UP. I wonder if she even knew her talking points were lies.

This is all that I could find. As of Feb., 2012, only 5,000 of the MANPADS had been found.

Something is missing from this story that would explain the nights events.

THAT is the $64 QUESTION. And, in the answer lies the real reason for the cover-up.
