Yes, I have taken my Grandson. Most Fridays for 6 years in the summer I was at Walter Reed Hospital Rally so it was not possible to do both.

I wonder if that contributes to his desire to be a Marine and to play in his school Marching Band and now Jazz Band too. He is working on his Eagle Boy Scout project...16 years old now and a really nice boy.

I have a fine granddaughter 21 and in college. She is a bone marrow donor and active in a breast cancer group too.

My smallest granddaughter (10) is starting to show all the same kindness to others. She understands Obama and redistribution of wealth. During his first campaign she told anyone who would listen: “He is not going to give my dad’s money to people who won’t work! AND he is not getting any of my toys either!”

Three different families and each one child...can you tell I am proud of them? LOL

>>No cost for tickets I seem to remember.

There’s always a cost for “free” tickets.

Well said! Somebody has to pay. Spread the cost to all taxpayers for a few thousand to enjoy the event.

Are you thinking that there is NO reason for a Marine Band?

I’m thinking costs imposed upon all taxpayers so the DC vanguard elite can enjoy “free” events are increasingly irritating - and that selling tickets would be a perfectly reasonable and equitable act of American commerce.

Definitely. Since there is a ticketing process there is a hidden cost too.

This is all so minor compared to the money we are giving foreign countries...not even friendly ones...it is just another smokescreen.

There’s nothing minor about the McSheeple’s indoctrinated expectation that they’re entitled to “free” stuff.

We were led to believe
that we'd be fiddlers
and saxophonists
and tuba-players
and pianists
- musicians
in the grand orchestra of life...
but we're not,
and we're slowly realizing that fact
--- and we're very, very pissed off about it....

The best event in D.C., hands down, is the evening parade at the Marine post at 8th and I. It’s held every Friday during the summer, it’s free and you don’t need reservations. It is a very moving event.

Agreed, and to hell with the umbrellas

Many days I feel like I am fiddling while my country goes up in flames!

Minor number of dollars, wasted...compared to the big give-aways.

All the minor ones add up to HUGH totals.

It is all very SERIES too.

LOL

When did providing free entertainment get a constitutional mandate?
