Montgomery County asks residents to hand over their guns (Maryland) [No payment for weapons]
The Washington Examiner ^ | May 11, 2013 | Rachel Baye

Montgomery County residents handed over 111 guns, 11 BB guns, 10,000 rounds of ammunition and a grenade at Saturday's statewide gun turn-in day, according to county police spokeswoman Lucille Baur.

Among the 111 guns were 68 hand guns, 27 rifles -- including at least one AK-47 -- 15 shot guns and a tiny pen gun, Baur said. In addition to the guns, police also received a sword and two canisters of tear gas, which were turned in by a former D.C. police officer who told police they left over from riots in 1968.

"A successful day," Baur said.

---snip---

But unlike recent gun buyback events in Howard County in March and in Prince George's County and Baltimore in December, officials offered no financial incentives for people to hand over their weapons.

Montgomery County has not offered cash or giftcards for a weapon in recent memory. Even at the last turn-in event more than 20 years ago, no financial incentives were offered.

"Incentives can frequently capture people's attention, and while the money isn't overwhelmingly -- as it's traditionally done -- overwhelmingly the biggest factor, our emphasis was to give people an opportunity to voluntarily and safely turn over their weapons," Paulson said....

I love how these are called "gun buy-backs" since the government didn't sell them in the first place, and in cases like this, no one is receiving any money for their property. This is like "good Germans" turning-in their weaponry to the Geheime Staats Polizei circa 1935.

Yes, it is.

Which made it possible for Hitler to murder millions of people.

Google translates the top word (which I read as “grazhdanye”) as “citizens”.

...and the following phrase "surrender their (sic) weapons".

I wonder if the sense is "Those who which to be counted as citizens willingly surrender their weapons; those who don't will be dealt with."

Anyway, yours is the best image of that poster I've seen so far...taken

And this is probably going to become commonplace if they don’t impeach the Muslim in office whose targets are laser focused on disarming the entire U.S. population, acting on behalf of his master who wants a one world government.

I watched a local news report on this last night and trust me, MOST of what was turned in (judging by the video) was old junk and a few shotguns. They could barely cover the bottom of a cardboard box with the junk pistols returned.

One of the men that was interviewed after he turned in his gun said that most of the people (himself included) were just getting rid of junk that couldn't be sold anyway.

Judging by the lack of guns displayed it looked like a total failure.

I am a native of Maryland, and I keep up pretty good on what is going on. I do not live in Montgomery County, nor would I, too many liberals there for me.

Anyway this story claims a Statewide gun turn in. it seem funny to me that I never heard of such a thing.
I had no idea such a thing was going on.

Montgomery is Maryland’s richest County, filled with liberals and illegals and Government workers in the highest GS grades. White mindless Obama voters. It sits right next to Prince Georges County filled with Government workers in High GS grades and affirmative action hires, and blacks who left SE Washington DC for the suburbs. Add Baltimore and it’s Elija Cummings voters and Nancy Pelosi Democrats , and Maryland is held hostage by liberals.

My little county has turned into a refuge against these people but we are slowly being invaded also.

"Those who which to be counted as citizens willingly surrender their weapons; those who don't will be dealt with."

The last phrase is the implication. The tactics used at Watertown, MA are those that will, at the right time the same tactics will be used in Maryland.

I directed my brother to youtube to watch the tactics the police employed against the citizens of Watertown. Because he had been stationed in Germany in the 1970s and 80s and had said that he had talked with a lot of Germans who lived through World War 2 to get their views. He watched the youtube videos and got back to me. He said that from watching the police action and remembering how the germans told him about how the Jews were rounded up that tow things were different: 1. The uniforms were different. 2. No trucks were there to haul the citizens away. The tactics employed by both were the same.

The comment,"Well none of the Wateryown residents complained about the tactics of the police." Well, I haven't read about any of the Jews complaining, either.

Gun buyback programs are contributing and assisting future self inflicted mass murder by government. /s?

Which I believe is against We The People, the Constitution and 2nd amendment.

just saying..

I recall people calling for Monopoly money to be donated to foolish causes (I believe Cindy Sheehan was the subject in question) as a means of saying “Screw you”.

In this case, would a toy gun have been the equivalent, preferably with a “**ck you!” sticky note?

He can be thankful that the war ended when it it did. They had plans for him, they just waited too long to carry them out. Hopefully he will get what he deserves one day.

Aside from the fact that most guns appear to be junk, why was 10,000 rounds of ammo turned in. And why are the people here volunteering to be crime victims? At some point in the not too distant future, we may have to test the proposition that
“Those who which to be counted as citizens willingly surrender their weapons; those who don’t will be dealt with.”
