NEW ORLEANS (AP) New Orleans police say that a dozen people have been shot during a Mother's Day second-line parade. Police Superintendent Ronal Serpas told reporters at least 12 people were shot during the parade in the city's 7th Ward. Police say the incident happened about 2 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Frenchmen and Villere streets. The Times-Picayune reports there were about 200 people at the event when gunfire erupted.

I was hoping Gov. Jindal would be able to clean up some of the criminal mess in New Orleans, but I guess the swamp was too deep even for him.

This from Wiki:
Second line is a tradition in brass band parades in New Orleans, Louisiana. The "main line" or "first line" is the main section of the parade, or the members of the actual club with the parading permit as well as the brass band. Those who follow the band just to enjoy the music are called the "second line." The second line's style of traditional dance, in which participants walk and sometimes twirl a parasol or handkerchief in the air, is called "second lining." It has been called "the quintessential New Orleans art form — a jazz funeral without a body."[1] Another significant difference from so called "jazz funerals" is second line parades usually lack the slow hymns and dirges played at funerals (although this is not a hard rule; some organizations may have the band play something solemn towards the start of the parade in memory of members deceased since their last parade).

Team Obama: “Excellent news! We needed something just like this to keep the media busy for the next week or so in order to bury stories like Benghazi, Boston Marathon, the crooked IRS, etc.”.

Thanks. That’s still rather confusing, but it’s not your fault ;-). Things like there being 200 people “at the event” (the shooting?). Is that 200 people in the parade? 200 people watching? 200 between paraders and spectators?

We don’t have a Mother’s Day parade here: there will be a big one on Memorial Day.

Every single one of these mass shootings is suspect IMO. They seem to crop up every time congress goes all in for one of their gun grabs or some gun control BS legislation

What’s a “second-line parade”?

A parade that you can attend only after having snorted your second line of coke?

My area in North Texas got most of the criminal human debris from Katrina but looks like New Orleans still has their share. This group of feral human beings has turned my once wonderful city and school system into a crime ridden hell hole.

Is this the work of the with amish victims? If so, then we don’t need to worry about 24 hour news coverage displacing other stories for the next two weeks.
