Pickering: Wasn't "Necessary" To Question Clinton In Benghazi Report [VIDEO]
RealClearPolitics ^ | May 12th, 2013 | Face the Nation/ Bob Scheiffer

Thomas Pickering - the former UN ambassador who along with former Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman Adm. Mike Mullen prepared the Accountability Review Board report on the State Department's handling of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi, Libya - says he didn't think it was necessary to interview former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton "because in fact we knew where the responsibility rested."

BOB SCHIEFFER: And good morning again. Ambassador Thomas Pickering is the one who led the State Department's investigation into how those Benghazi attacks where handled. Mr. Ambassador, you and I have known one another as you had various posts in the government for many, many years. You headed this investigation. But the three state department employees who testified this week where frustrated with the report--they said it was incomplete, one of them, Greg Hicks, even told investigators his words, not mine, it let people off the hook. Is that a fair criticism?

AMBASSADOR PICKERING: I don't believe so and I think that's an unfair criticism. They've tried to point a finger at people more senior than where we found the decisions were made. The decisions were made and reviewed at the level that we fixed responsibility for failures of performance.

Yes, all the special ops guys know.

- Ollie North said that Ambassador Pickering complained when his security was threatened in Central America.

The State Department tripled his security.

Pickering has no problemo with then (so long ago) Secretary of State Hillary and resident Opansy reduced - not increased - protection as Libyan Ambassador Stevens repeatedly begged for more security -

Hillary & Opansy knowingly ignored Ambassadaor Stevens - and with malice aforethought knowingly have lied about organized Muslim terrorists and Al Quabong attacking at Benghazi and killing at least four (4) Americans

The last days of Hillary Clinton and Barry Hussein Opansy (Junior) will mirror that of Benito Mussolini and Adoph Hitler.

Wild hungry boars be upon them -

That was the shock of the day. He just shrugged his shoulders, and Shieffer just moved on to the next question.

Makes sense to me.

If your plan is to showcase how white and clean your laundry looks, you aren't going to put on display the underwear with the skid marks.

Wouldn’t be great to take a guy like that and cane him in public?

Mr. Issa and crew will soon be deposing Pickering and Mullen. They will be under oath. Should be interesting.

Eventually Mr. Issa will get around to deposing The Hildabeaste. That will be even more interesting.

Mr. Issa has been very deliberate in who he deposes and the order of the depositions. Methinks he’s building a case :)

FLASHBACK

http://articles.philly.com/1989-02-24/news/26150904_1_nicaraguan-contras-thomas-r-pickering-contra-supporters

February 24, 1989

Committee Chairman Claiborne Pell (D., R.I.) asked Pickering why he decided as ambassador to El Salvador to pass on to Lt. Col. Oliver L. North information that ultimately led to a secret donation of more than $1 million in military equipment and supplies for the Nicaraguan contras.

Pickering insisted that he “saw no money exchanged” but acknowledged that he provided North, then a National Security Council aide in Washington, with a note and an “oral message” from an unidentified individual about the military assistance. At the time, the Boland amendment prohibited the United States from supplying any kind of military aid to the rebels fighting the leftist government of Nicaragua.

Pickering said that he had some “reservations” about being the carrier for such a message but that he did not consider it a violation of the Boland amendment.

“I made the decision this was a suitable way to pass it (the arms information),” the 57-year-old diplomat said.

In 1987, Pickering told congressional committees investigating the Iran- contra affair that the note contained a list of weapons and military supplies being offered by a private group of Nicaraguan exiles and other contra supporters.

Pickering said yesterday that he gave the information to North instead of passing it through regular State Department channels because of its sensitive nature.

Wow great find, I now know why Col North spoke so highly of Pickering on Seans show the other night(sar).

So we have another Soros plant that not only helped screw over Ronald Reagan but is the fixer on this mess to bail out the ONE.

The more things change the more they stay the same.

Good morning.

Eventually Mr. Issa will get around to deposing The Hildabeaste.

That reminded me of Rush's parity song on hillary..."can't recall," etc. and "Jello."

Anyway, "What difference does it make?"

Has Col. North yet mentioned gun-running to Syria?

I don’t know whether he has or not. Great finds on smarmy Pickering.

That man does not come off as very credible to begin with...now it is obvious he is a democrat political hack from way back.

This is what I have observed, most ex CIA or national security people have stayed away from speculation on the arms running.

Thomas Pickering, a former US ambassador to Israel, wrote to Clinton on December 18, 2011 that she should recommend sparking Palestinian demonstrations, led by female protesters, to force Israel to re-enter peace negotiations. The protests, which also called on Israeli Jews to hold parallel demonstrations against the government, should be led by and attended by women only so as to reduce the chances of violence. "On the Palestinian side the male culture is to use force. Palestinian men will not for long patiently demonstrate -- they will be inclined over time and much too soon to be frustrated and use force. Their male culture comes close to requiring it," Pickering wrote.

Can we assume the Washington Post and New York Times will downplay this outrage? A Republican would have been called 'racists' in a New York Minute...
