As many as 19 injured in shooting at New Orleans Mother's Day parade
Fox News ^ | 5/12/2013

Posted on 05/12/2013 5:51:33 PM PDT by Altura Ct.

New Orleans police are searching for three suspects Sunday after at least 19 people were shot during a Mother’s Day parade.

Police spokeswoman Remi Braden said in an email that many of the victims were grazed and most of the wounds weren't life-threatening. No deaths were reported.

The FBI said that the shooting appeared to be "street violence" and wasn't linked to terrorism.

The victims included 10 men, seven women, a boy and a girl. The children, both 10 years old, were grazed and in good condition. Police said at least two people were in surgery Sunday night.

Mary Beth Romig, a spokeswoman for the FBI in New Orleans, said federal investigators have no indication that the shooting was an act of terrorism. "It's strictly an act of street violence in New Orleans," she said.

Chief Serpas announced in a press conference earlier on Sunday that the youngest victim is believed to be a 10-year-old girl. Police say she suffered a graze wound, WVUE Fox 8 reported.

Officers were interspersed with the marchers, which is routine for such events. As many as 400 people joined in the procession that stretched for about 3 blocks, though only half that many were in the immediate vicinity of the shooting, Serpas said.

They would and will continue doing that.

I wonder if they have a fathers day parade?

I’m guessing there would be no men to participate...

Just sayin

No I don’t agree with the lock down.
I think they are terrified of what happens when
terrorists continue to strike on our streets.

Serpas came to Nashville for about 6 or so years. He played the statistics lying game. He looks like he has added about 40 more lbs. He was not liked by any officer or patrolman as he was a joke to them.

Not sure what NOLA is like now -- haven't been there in more than 15 years, but 25 or 30 years ago, the cops were bigger criminals than the average street criminals, which is saying something.

I remember a case where one cop robbing a liquor store killed another cop who was working off-duty as security.

It really is a thoroughly corrupt city and BTW, totally Democrat.

I read in an earlier post that the police were optimistic about identifying the perps. That seemed to imply that they had a lot of cameras in that part of town.

May God help them identify and arrest these vermin.

A father’s day parade would lead to an unspeakable amount of child support collected ! We can’t have that.

I suspect some cell phone vids/pics will surface also. Some of the area looks commerical and other parts like residential. The following two links are news sites with several photos each.

I hated that city. I had to go there 3 times in 2 years on business. Apparently I drew the short straw every time. Corrupt, violent and really stupid. I own my own business now and I have avoided that town like the plague ever since. That town needed a toilet flush like Katrina but it just backed up the toilet.

I don't recall the liquor store part of the story (there really aren't any specialty liquor stores to speak of in New Orleans; you can buy hard liquor at the grocery or pharmacy). There was a cop who killed her own partner while he was working an off-duty security job at a Vietnamese-owned restaurant in eastern New Orleans. Wiped out all the family members who were working at the restaurant, too - except one kid who hid in the walk-in cooler and later fingered the shooter.

Do a web search for "Antoinette Frank" - I believe she's still wasting oxygen at Angola.

Our service men and women are on the front line all over the world. For the Islamics the front line is HERE.

The Bush Doctrine in Iraq was to fight them over there before they had a chance to come over here.

The Obama Doctrine is to arm them, then invite them here, then look the other way while crippling America's institutions.
