In Massachusetts, where last year the Governor vetoed efforts to prohibit food stamps being used for pornography, piercings, tattoos, guns, manicures, etc, they’re now trying to discover whether the Tsarnaev brothers used them to pay for the Boston Marathon bombing:

A mountain of new welfare records shows numerous EBT card cash withdrawals made by the Tsarnaev family, but so far there is no information about how terrorist Tamerlan Tsarnaev and others may have spent the money.

The EBT receipts were handed over by the state to the House Post Audit and Oversight Committee as part of its probe into the Russian family’s $100,000-plus taxpayer-financed life in the Bay State. The committee met yesterday behind closed doors to review Medicaid and welfare awards…

Every day about 7-10 AM I usually make a run to WalMart to get food needs and to check out what ammo has been received the night before.

I pass about a half mile of Section 8 rental trailers on both sides of the roads. The TANF, SNAP, EITC, WICs inside are always there, usually two or more trucks/cars in their trailers - FAST ASLEEP. Even when I come back home, mostly too if I make an afternoon run. Cars always there, at least before Noon - they get grumpy if they have to get up before then. Not a job among them, BUT!

They are fierce individualists - nearly each has a big sign over their trailer door or on the ramshackle deck that says “Private Property. Keep Out!” Not far are the black plastic bags of trash they throw out on the lawn waiting for the city workers to come pick it up.

I think different rules for different states.
If you get TANF, that is funds on your EBT card that can be withdrawn as cash at ATMs, at least here in Indiana.

One of the local tv stations got a file from the state showing amounts and locations of Indiana TANF ATM transactions:
Vegas, Puerto Rico, Disney (CA & FL), Hawaii, Nevada brothels, etc etc. were all on the list.

As far as WalMart goes, its business plan does not conform to the socialist political elite’s (as well as the City Council’s) vision of society.

There are McDonalds, EBT cards have to be used somewhere.

There was a time when a Dem POTUS didnt want the stigma of being a food stamp POTUS but we live in new times, Obama wears it as a badge of honor: importing poverty and terrorists to here , giving them US citizenship to vote Dem, and food stamps as soon as they touch US soil, is now considered a successful presidency.
