False reports outpace sex assaults in the military

False complaints of sexual abuse in the military are rising at a faster rate than overall reports of sexual assault, a trend that could harm combat readiness, analysts say.

Virtually all media attention on a Pentagon report last week focused on an increase in service members’ claims of sexual abuse in an anonymous survey, but unmentioned were statistics showing that a significant percentage of such actually investigated cases were baseless.

From 2009 to 2012, the number of sexual abuse reports rose from 3,244 to 3,374 — a 4 percent increase.

I have seen females use it against male superiors as a form of blackmail to get out of work assignments, soldiers use it to to get out of deployments, a total disregard to chain of command...this is what happens when the youth of today are brought up through valueless society elements of both home and school - and find out the reported and alleged sexual abuse can sway superiors to leave one alone!

Everything that has been sacrificed for over the last 200 yrs is about to be a total waste due to progressive society and their lack of norms and values that do not support traditional US society...shameful - isn’t it?

The old “steers and queers” bit is now sexual abuse.

All of this would now be sexual abuse:

But, look who's setting the criteria for "baseless."

When our city's cops inspected a "geh" bar several years ago, they were harassed, "dry humped," by drunk homo bar patrons. The cops arrested a few of these rather roughly. A long, pointless investigation by a cowed city government into "discriminatory excessive use of force" showed that the allegations of assault on the police were "baseless."

Dang, do you think maybe mixing women and men in close proximity might increase the prospect of any number of various sexual encounters!?!?!?! Maybe neutering would be the answer. Were eunuchs good warriors — do we have any volunteers??

The Military’s Mission is being co-opted by Political Social Engineers and it is a Mission on it’s own... (designed by those that despise it).

I'm sure they have anti-harassment policies.
False allegations of a crime is serious harassment and should be dealt with accordingly.
The problem is of course proving that the accusation was false.

I saw it happening back in the early 80's when women were only assigned to support ships (tenders, oilers, etc.).

Short story from 1984: My FF was tied up outside a tender. So both ships created a long line off the tender for shore leave (think it was Diego Garcia - boring). As I'm in line, some male sailor complimented some female sailor about her hair or other non-sexual thing. Within minutes, a female CPO was there to drag the poor guy out of line while reading him the riot act in front of everyone. Don't know what happened to him, but use your imagination.

I can't imagine what it must be like now, with all the guys facing quicksand if they say or look the wrong way at a female.

Can you believe they want to put women on submarines? Wonder if the Navy ever did anything about the female sailors who would intentionally get pregnant to avoid a cruise?

Also, "Tailhook" was a total PC hanging party. The girls wanted to play with the boys at that annual convention so as to be build camaraderie. When they got slapped on the fanny (as did the guys who ran the so-called gauntlet in the hallway), they whined until JAG killed many Aviators' careers. What a cluster-frig that was. I was never so ashamed of my Navy for not just telling the women, "You want to play with the boys - play by their rules...or do your own thing". I was an enlisted airdale, so it hit close to home.

Lots of times, if the superiors weren’t so worried about their careers, they would fight these allegations to the end.

While I might add that it's upper tier command is being politically corrupted, I agree with you completely.

“The problem is of course proving that the accusation was false.”

Well, we could always use the same evidence we use to “prove” the acusation is true; the word of the victim. In this case, the victim would be the falsely accused man.

If her word is sufficient to accuse him, why is his word not likewise trusted, as long there is no documented reason to doubt his honesty?
