Obama says his is ‘most transparent administration' ever
THE HILL ^ | 02/14/13 | Jonathan Easley

Posted on 05/13/2013 4:25:27 PM PDT by McGruff

President Obama on Thursday hailed his administration for its transparency.

“This is the most transparent administration in history,” Obama said during a Google Plus “Fireside” Hangout.

“I can document that this is the case,” he continued. “Every visitor that comes into the White House is now part of the public record. Every law we pass and every rule we implement we put online for everyone to see.”

The president said this holds true even on the issue of the attack on a U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, a controversy which he said was “driven by campaign” politics and one that Congressional Republicans were clinging to even though they’ve “run out of questions.”

“Benghazi is not a good example,” Obama said. “We’ve had more testimony and more paper than ever before.”

The president has also been criticized – even by some liberals – for his use of drones to target terrorist suspects abroad, some of whom have been U.S. citizens. Obama said there are “a handful of issues, mostly surrounding national security,” that require some confidentiality.

However, the president pledged to be open about how drones are used, saying the public will “know the parameters” around the program.

“What I think is absolutely true is it’s not sufficient for citizens to just take my word for it that we’re doing the right thing,” Obama said.

The president added that there are different policies on how drones are used abroad, compared to how they’re used in the United States.

“I think there’s never been a drone used on an American citizen on American soil,” Obama said. “We respect and have a whole bunch of safeguards into how we conduct counter-terrorism outside the United States ... the rules are different inside the United States.

Wait. There's more.

Transparency and Open Government

Memorandum for the Heads of Executive Departments and Agencies

SUBJECT:      Transparency and Open Government

My Administration is committed to creating an unprecedented level of openness in Government.  We will work together to ensure the public trust and establish a system of transparency, public participation, and collaboration. Openness will strengthen our democracy and promote efficiency and effectiveness in Government.

Government should be transparent.  Transparency promotes accountability and provides information for citizens about what their Government is doing.  Information maintained by the Federal Government is a national asset. My Administration will take appropriate action, consistent with law and policy, to disclose information rapidly in forms that the public can readily find and use. Executive departments and agencies should harness new technologies to put information about their operations and decisions online and readily available to the public. Executive departments and agencies should also solicit public feedback to identify information of greatest use to the public.

Government should be participatory. Public engagement enhances the Government's effectiveness and improves the quality of its decisions. Knowledge is widely dispersed in society, and public officials benefit from having access to that dispersed knowledge. Executive departments and agencies should offer Americans increased opportunities to participate in policymaking and to provide their Government with the benefits of their collective expertise and information. Executive departments and agencies should also solicit public input on how we can increase and improve opportunities for public participation in Government.

Government should be collaborative.  Collaboration actively engages Americans in the work of their Government. Executive departments and agencies should use innovative tools, methods, and systems to cooperateamong themselves, across all levels of Government, and with nonprofit organizations, businesses, and individuals in the private sector.  Executive departments and agencies should solicit public feedback to assess and improve their level of collaboration and to identify new opportunities for cooperation.

I direct the Chief Technology Officer, in coordination with the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the Administrator of General Services, to coordinate the development by appropriate executive departments and agencies, within 120 days, of recommendations for an Open Government Directive, to be issued by the Director of OMB, that instructs executive departments and agencies to take specific actions implementing the principles set forth in this memorandum. The independent agencies should comply with the Open Government Directive.

This memorandum is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by a party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.

This memorandum shall be published in the Federal Register.

But his cover up is noble and just doing what’s right for America

“Congressional Republicans were clinging to even though they’ve “run out of questions.”

They aren’t out of questions they are waiting for the answers. So they have to ask them again. Bit by bit the answers are slowly coming.

Speaking of the start.

The first 100 days of the Presidency of Barack Obama began during the Inauguration of Barack Obama with the conversion of Whitehouse.gov from the Bush Administration version to the Obama Administration version at 12:00 pm on January 20, 2009. This was only the second presidential online portal transition. At 12:01, White House Director of New Media Macon Phillips posted the website’s first blog post with themes of “communication”, “transparency” and “participation”. However, after the first week, the reporters covering the White House became dubious about the pledge of transparency.

Maybe most transparently lying. Seriously, the lies are so bad, so continual... What is really insulting is how blatant they are. If you’re going to lie to me, at least put some thought and effort into it - like you think I’m intelligent enough to see through a stupid lie. Just spewing rancid, illogical, improbable lies at us shows contempt for us. Well, I hold you hussein in equal or greater contempt. You are the worse, most corrupt President ever. You are a sorry excuse for a man, and a poor example of a human being. You’re nothing but a lying POS.

The key to understanding Obamaspeak is to understand that Obama is self-delusional.

Obama truly believes that reality can be created just by him saying so.

I call these statements Obamalies.

Hence, when Obama wants something to be true, all he has to do is say the words and reality will be created around them.

In this manner Obama is capable of protecting himself from REALITY that you and I recognize, but is unrecognizable to Obama.

Today at his presser, Obama shed a rare tear as he momentarily recognized that his reality was not our REALITY.

US President Valerie Jarrett makes sure that Obama always reads from her scripted teleprompter, or sticks to her scripted talking points.

Thus, minimizing Obama’s self-delusional, private outbursts of the warped reality that only Obama knows - - - .

The Most Transparent Administration In Human History Sure Likes To Plead the Fifth,

“The way to make government responsible is to hold it accountable. The way to make government accountable is to make it transparent, so the American people can know exactly what decisions are being made, how they’re being well made, and whether their interests are being well served...For a long time now, there’s been too much secrecy in this city. The old rules said that if there was a defensible argument for not disclosing something to the American people, then it should not be disclosed. That era is now over, starting today.”

Back in those early, heady days, Obama pledged that transparency would be a “touchstone” of his administration. Touchstone - noun - “a standard or criterion by which something is judged or recognized.” Three-and-a-half years later, it’s ignore, deny, scoff, then plead the fifth. Now if only we could get the Vice President to avail himself of his sacred right to remain silent... I’ll leave you with this juicy Politico quote on Obama’s track record on FOIA requests:

“Obama is the sixth administration that’s been in office since I’ve been doing Freedom of Information Act work. … It’s kind of shocking to me to say this, but of the six, this administration is the worst on FOIA issues. The worst. There’s just no question about it,” said Katherine Meyer, a Washington lawyer who’s been filing FOIA cases since 1978. “This administration is raising one barrier after another. … It’s gotten to the point where I’m stunned — I’m really stunned.”
