Someone get the staff of the New York Times down to NYU for a Biology 101 class. The Gray Lady reported today that abortion practitioner Kermit Gosnell was found guilty of killing “fetuses.”
Never mind that a “fetus” is an unborn child in the womb, not a baby who was killed after purposefully being birthed in an abortion process that is essentially infanticide. Unlike what the Times reported, a jury of 12 people, who clearly paid attention in seventh grade Life Science class, convicted him of three counts of first-degree murder.
But, as the Washington Free Beacon first noted, the New York Times referred to those infants as “fetuses” six times in the paper’s report on the conviction.
From the NYT:
1. The verdict came after a five-week trial in which the prosecution and the defense battled over whether the fetuses Dr. Gosnell was charged with killing were alive when they were removed from their mothers.
2. Dr. Gosnell was acquitted of one first-degree murder charge involving an aborted fetus.
3. Clinic workers who appeared as witnesses for the prosecution said some of the fetuses appeared to move or make noises.
4. Dr. Gosnell kept the severed feet of aborted fetuses in dozens of jars around his clinic.
5. Mr. McMahon argued that there was no evidence that any of the fetuses were born alive.
6. Mr. McMahon also dismissed prosecutors’ arguments that one of the fetuses, Baby C, was alive after being aborted.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Courts, politicians, writers etc. turned employed pretzel logic defending the indefensible when it came to slavery in the 1800s. Eventually the institution fell as much of its own unsupportable weight (although CWI had a lot to do with it as well). You got the exact same thing going on here. Dred Scott wasn’t a person so he had to be returned to his owner. Gosnell was killing “fetuses”. No real difference here.
So - given that - I wonder why we don’t spend more time equating abortion to slavery - as in both denied personhood to people who were clearly people and both saw implausible contortionist logic to preserve the fiction.
Actually this would be a positive if he was actually convicted of killing fetuses....then all abortion is murder, as we already know it to be.

You know, I think snipping the neck of a tiny baby struggling for life is definitely murder. And he was amazed at the verdict, so the news reports.
I wouldn’t give the bastid a lethal injection, I’d give the bastid a shot at Old Sparky. Or, if he bowed up at me and talked some silliness, I’d give him a rope.
Better than what he gave them “fetuses.”

Somebody needs to tell the fetuses down at the New Yawk Times that fetuses do not try to swim and crawl out of a toilet when some maggot **** abortion doctor throws them in there.
Their attempt to obfuscate that Gosnell killed born babies by saying he killed “fetuses” backfired, as it is an admission that a fetus is alive and killing one, as in abortion, should be called murder.
