Where the Scandal Points

It looks like one of the things that will be inflicted on New Yorkers as a result of the scandal at the Internal Revenue Service is a whole new round of tirades from the New York Times calling for state-funded electioneering.

Because it's fair- in NYC there is already a 4:1 city/private donation law, the funds available under certain circumstances.

What I would really like to see is all funds not spent on a campaign go to the IRS.

No more war chests for incumbents with 20 years in the position. They have to root up new money each year, just like their opponents.

The IRS could use the money to pay down the debt the incumbents made.
