Jon Stewart mercilessly tore into the Obama administration tonight over the revelation that the Internal Revenue Service specifically targeted Tea Party groups for scrutiny. Stewart slammed the governments lack of managerial competence and said that thanks to this scandal, conspiracy theorists how have a level of vindication theyve never had before.
After briefly responding to Bill OReilly going after him, Stewart mockingly opined that there is no possible justification for all the wild claims conservatives have made about government overreach, only to be caught up with the IRS scandal. Stewart said the whole tax-exempt status thing is bullsh*t, but its bullsh*t that should be granted equally.
Stewart slammed the IRS director who not only thought an apology was good enough for an IRS-related matter, but admitted shes not good at math. Stewart snarkily replied, Thats a good one, lady who works at the place that calculate peoples taxes!
Stewart explained exactly why this scandal has changed the dynamic between the White House and its conservative opponents.
Well, congratulations, President Barack Obama, Conspiracy theorists who generally can survive in anaerobic environments have just had an algae bloom dropped on their f***ing heads, thus removing the last arrow in your pro-governance quiver: skepticism about your opponents.(continued)

Yet not a word about Benghazi.
There are few “entertainers” with their head up Hussein’s obama as far as Jon Stewart.
Wouldn't want the gov't to be deprived of every possible funding opportunity because . . . everything should belong to the gov't anyway.
I would think that a BASIC tenet of faith and articles of belief in the American System and Constitution should inherently believe and intrinsically defend the right of EVERYONE to speak his piece, be heard, print, and assembly any type of civil dissent. ANY GOVERNMENT THAT OPPOSES THIS could be labeled tyranical. I am very disturbed.
Actually, if you watch the piece, Stewart's commentary is FAR more cutting than that. He really does rip 'em a new one.
Obamas IRS basically shut the tea party and conservatives out of the 2012 election and out of politics.
The tea party grew and in the 2010 election the tea party won a great victory
So Obamas IRS shut down or prevented many tea party groups from starting . This is why the 2012 election favored democrats and why Obama won.
Obamas IRS intimidated many conservatives form taking part in the political process and from raising money for causes they believed in
basically the IRS shut down the tea party to rig the election for democrats in 2012 and for Obama
there would have been a lot more conservatives elected to congress if the tea party groups were allowed to raise money. additionally maybe a conservative would have been nominated for the GOP (as tea party groups couldnt raise money for a conservative in the primary)
so the election is invalid , Obama must be impeached and the IRS must be abolished not given more power with obamacare. democrats/socialists stole the U.S. senate and the presidency in the 2012 election.
Wonder if he would call it that if Bush was going after all the commie groups? What a Libercrite.
Pray for America to Wake Up
There’s a HUGE difference in “embarrassment” of what HE did or HE ordered his people to do and what HIS PEOPLE did to make HIM look bad. So far, it hasn’t been a very bad, terrible week for 0bama. So far, I’d suspect he’s still smiling behind closed doors.
And if the mythical "separation of Church and State" that the Lefties are so fond of is real, that means that the state has no right to tax churches. Period.
But Lefties always want everything both ways.
Stewart is a lowlife pinko who is as much as anyone else in the DNC, is responsible for Hussein’s election and reelection.
His criticism of Hussein now is too little, too late and probably not sincere.
Just my opinion of course.
Jon Stewart is an A-hole . . . far, far left wing and a very nasty so-called comodian. For him to NOW get upset about the thugs in our White House just shows that he’s upset that his widdle baby Obambi is embarrassing him and all the other libtards. May Jon Steward go to hell.
That's it exactly. Too many people see this IRS targeting as just an action to annoy conservatives, sort of like making someone stand in line longer than usual for service.
It was much more than that. The delay cost those groups the ability to participate in the 2012 elections.
In some ways, this is much worse than Watergate. No one was disenfranchised by Watergate.
It’s already been 5 years since dissent was patriotic.
impeach Obama, arrest him and march him out in an orange jump suit
But its not a fair assessment of the scandal, IMO.
For sure. This is pure spin and anger at Obama for giving the game away. The Dems learned decades ago that "entertainers" can sway more weak and immature minds politically than reasoned debate.
The question with the left has always been where each person is on the incompetence vs evil scale.
The “incompetence” excuse is giving them the benefit of the doubt that they don’t have malicious intent.
I don’t rule out malice.
I’ve watched most of the segments where Stewart has touched on this, and the impression I’ve come away with is not that Stewart is necessarily upset that these things happened, he’s upset because Obama has provided ammunition for the Republicans to attack him. So I think Stewart’s ire is highly suspect.
I liken it to a fan of a sports team upset at a head coach because his team isn’t winning.....doesn’t mean he starts rooting for another team because of it.
As if the EPA harassment, FCC harassment, etc. was not already on record.
Shadow email account to engage in partisan activity against conservatives.
Also requested “papers please” on donors, who was trained, etc.
For the audits, you see. Scientology and Statism. That’s all.
Stewart’s a pathetic clown who helped create this crime family. He’s a little late to rehabilitate his rep.
Managerial incompetence works to Conservative’s favor here. It’s much better to convince the public that the Government is incapable of effective governance and is something to be feared, loathed and kept small and on a very tight leash ( the views held by the founders and framers ) then to have all the blame fall onto the lap of transitory leadership.
Undermining Obama is a secondary or even tertiary consideration here. Leveraging these messes to promote Conservative ideals about the proper size scope and role of government is the primary.
Who will carry that message?
Managerial incompetence........I don’t think so, how about the class warfare, anything goes and race baiting that has been Obamas managerial style?
It really needs to be everyone, a constant and repeated drumbeat from all quarters.
Otherwise it’s going to take someone of Reagan’s caliber. Reagan had the support and trust of Conservatives on tactical matters, so he could rise to the strategic level. There’ll never be another Reagan, obviously, but I also don’t see anyone in the pipeline (even Cruz or Paul) that would even begin to approach what Reagan was capable of.
Both sides are dug in too deep to be swayed one way or the other. The fight is for 5 or 10 percent who so far haven’t proven themselves to be very deep thinkers. We shall see.
I don’t know. I think that the Millenials are an increasingly target rich environment. There have been a number of good articles recently about growing anti-government cynicism in their ranks, and their support for Obama dropped about 10 points from 2008 to 2012.
Right now the Left wins by personalizing the scandals on Obama. It leads to the argument that Liberalism hasn’t worked because the right people haven’t led it’s implementation yet.
Keep the argument centered on how Big Government is always going to fail, no matter who tries it, and it won’t matter who the Left runs because they’ll still have to play ball on OUR field.
