Obama dreams of ‘going Bulworth,’ New York Times reports
Yahoo News ^ | 16 May 2013 | Olivier Knox,

Posted on 05/16/2013 8:20:19 AM PDT by mandaladon

President Barack Obama—exasperated by scandals, a seemingly stalled domestic agenda and armchair chiefs of staff in the media—wants to tell you what he really thinks, Washington. Really let you have it. In fact, he’s so frustrated with all of the inside-the-Beltway BS that he might hire an assassin to target him in a couple of days, but not before he’s really ripped politicians (especially Democrats), denounced the outsized weight of money in elections and used “socialism” as a rallying cry against health insurance companies. Wait, what? The New York Times reported on Thursday that Obama "has talked longingly of ‘going Bulworth,’ a reference to a little-remembered 1998 Warren Beatty movie about a senator who risked it all to say what he really thought." “Probably every president says that from time to time,” the Times quoted longtime Obama adviser David Axelrod as saying. ''It's probably cathartic just to say it. But the reality is that while you want to be truthful, you want to be straightforward, you also want to be practical about whatever you're saying.'' The Times' description of the movie is a bit antiseptic. Bulworth, a disillusioned veteran Democratic senator from California facing a tough primary, takes out a rich life insurance policy on himself, with his daughter as beneficiary, and hires an assassin to kill him in a few days' time. Thinking he's going to die, Bulworth decides he has nothing to lose and hits the campaign trail skewering the state of politics—and notably the Democratic Party and race relations.

It bears noting, though, that even as those aides roll their eyes at the “Green Lantern Theory of Politics”—the idea that the president just needs to change things by force of will—or at the idea that he needs to cut more deals, or at calls for him to schmooze more with lawmakers, Obama has been putting all of that advice into practice.

Actually, this is what I'm afraid of. The mask is off, he has nothing to lose - but he has enormous power still at his disposal. I think he'll dare the GOP and in fact any law-abiding people who believe in our system to just try to get him out or even to back down, and then he'll go on a rampage where he will just do all these things openly (because after all, he won...).

I guess the simplest explanation is that this guy is just a lazy bum. I mean, cripes, he wanted this job, didn't he? Here is a clown he does nothing but campaign for office, and when he gets the job, he does nothing but complain, blame others, and seek pity because he is unhappy. Geez, man up a little, and just do your job. Those of us who have worked all our lives know that working isn't always something we will enjoy, but we still just man up and get on with the job. Try working for a living, Mr. President.

This is a typical leftist reaction to people not buying their schtick: They think we didn't get the message. Somehow, after public schools, Marxist universities, NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, Newsweak, Time, every newspaper in creation, and advertising, we somehow didn't hear that message they believe to be so compelling... that we should do whatever they tell us to do, believe whatever they say, and throw flowers at their feet in appreciation at the crust they'll offer us.

So they repeat themselves, ever louder, and believe that if we don't buy it, we must either be stupid or "evil forces" are at work.

Going Bullworth? Growing bull$hit.

The Communists globally, including the Weather Underground, recognized that there were sizeable percentages of the populace that would not succumb to political re-education and indoctrination (the REAL free thinkers). The determination was made that they would need to be locked up in prison camps or simply slaughtered (the Weather Underground estimate was that at least 25 million would need to be killed).

A drop in the bucket. According to the Seville Strategy of the Global Biodiversity Assessment, the total population of the planet should not exceed 1 billion. Never mind that restoring native plant habitat requires an enormous amount of labor resulting in GREATER biodiversity (our property hosts 371 plant species).

That is the real tragedy with eco-Marxism. In their lust for power to "save the earth," they just might kill it, because they will have killed the people who know how to manage it.

He only knows how to campaign...from the 'flapping your mouth' experience.

This guy is a barker at a carnival side show, hense why he used the side show metaphor the other day.

It seems he is not back in DC taking full control of this run away roller coaster car on the down side run. He thinks only he can pull it out. Great. The more he takes control, the faster the desent will be. Right now, those who are paying attention want some answers, not some speeches or finger pointing. I am awaiting for the first person to ask him the question: exactly what were you doing after 5pm on the day of the Benghasi attack? When he gives the answer that will throw Hitlery under the bus, because he was not involved, it will be the end of his reign of terror.

Next question: Mr. President, you removed the head of the IRS because of that scandal so you apparently believe the guy at the top is responsible, since there are scandals both in the Justice Department and State Department and even apparently at HHS, should not the person in charge of all four go?

Exactly so. He’s shown his true beliefs many times. However since most Americans no longer have any critical thinking skills they put their trust in “experts” to interpret the glaringly obvious.

Let’s look at a timeline. Obama can’t resign too quickly because the Democrats don’t have everything set up yet, and it would really look fishy. He can’t wait too long to resign, or the troubles will just keep getting worse. The Democrats have done a timeline. They already know when Obama will resign.

Side show barker is a good simile. Of all the Presidents I have witnessed in my lifetime (which goes back to Eisenhower), this bum is the least presidential of any of them. For all their faults, his predecessors at least tried to do their jobs, work with the people who can make things happen (Congress, et al.), and tough it out when they started taking some heat. We may have disagreed with them, but at least they got in the ring and took some punches as well as giving them. All this child does is cry. Doing any real work in governing seems like a foreign concept to him.

Like many affirmative action candidates, he wanted the title, the perks, and the prestige-he wasn’t even thinking about the actual job. That never entered into his vision of being “Mr President”. That’s one reason he gets all bent out of shape when he’s forced to realise that he’s president, not king-just issuing decrees is so much easier than consulting Congress, the Constitution, and the law of the land.
