Ohio groups long ago sounded alarm on IRS

Conservative Ohio groups more than a year ago raised the alarm that the Internal Revenue Service was holding up their applications for tax-exempt status, leading Ohio U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan (R., Urbana) to request the audit that led to the IRS's admission that it targeted Tea Party-related groups for close scrutiny. The scandal on Wednesday broadened enough to prompt President Obama's Treasury Secretary Jack Lew to request the resignation of acting IRS Commissioner Steven Miller. Mr. Jordan, who chairs a Tea Party-leaning conservative caucus in the House of Representatives, sent a letter on March 27, 2012, to the IRS, seeking a response to complaints from Ohio groups.

Hundreds of groups knew it was happening and were talking about it but it took the IRS admitting to it to give it legs?

It's scary that when lots of people see a wrong they are helpless to stop it. This federal government is lawless and thinks it is fully unaccountable to the people that employ it.

Stonewall!

Who covered up for the implementers of the IRS attacks?

Did Steven Miller lose his government pension for doing this (I know, I know, he wasn’t even involved...just the convenient fall guy). But I think even the fall guy needs to be punished due to his association with Obama.

Sorry but the newspapers were too busy reporting on the glamour of Michelle Obama, gay marriage and other hot topics.

PAGE 29 of the TIGTA report shows an ORG chart of who manages the EO. Everyone should look at that chart and ask themselves how is it that those on the bottom of the chart
were doing this with no involvment from any of the boxes above them on the chart. Most of those boxes are based in D.C. not Cincinnati.

The IRS is going to be the controlling authority of Obamacare eligibility. In making their procedure and "Death Panel" decisions they are likely to have the ability to deny life saving measures to conservatives, Christians, gun owners or any other social identifiers the White House deems negative in terms of transforming America. They are hiring THOUSANDS of lawyers to assess eligibility and look into every aspect of our lives.

Congress has no intention of doing anything about this coming atrocity with the exception of a handful of people.

just the convenient fall guy

I'd say. Before his "resignation," he was going to leave the IRS in June. After his resignation, he is going to leave the IRS in June. Laughable.

It was obvious that things were headed in this direction as soon as the Republican-owned Dodge dealerhips were the ones selected to close in connection with the government-brokered sale of the corporation to Fiat. That was 2009, I believe.

I’m sure they made him an offer that he couldn’t refuse, one way or another.

Anyone remember if any of the Car franchises were harassed during the cash for clunkers/GM bailout debacle?

Although the Dem’s were in charge of all this, a liberal post in response to the article got me thinking. The IRS was going after the Tea Party groups. This was common knowledge among the Washington power players. The Dem’s denied it and the Repubs said “OK, then.”

The Rino Repubs were OK with the IRS actions, since it kept the Rinos in power.

True. And not just in June, but in “early June”. In other words, instead of two weeks notice, he was “forced” to give two and 1/2 weeks notice, because Obama was “angry”. ANGRY, I tell ya!
