James Carville: This is all over in 30 days By: Kevin Robillard May 16, 2013 11:57 AM EDT
Democratic strategist James Carville had some good news for President Barack Obama amid three controversies: It will all be over in a month.
Carville, who helped guide former President Bill Clinton through crises, on Thursday described Benghazi and the Justice Departments decision to subpoena the Associated Press phone records as non-stories to start with and he predicted the IRS scandal would fizzle out within a month.
These guys are awfully frustrated right now, Carville said, referring to the GOP. Theyre taking the anger out, and I understand that. I think the White House has just go to live with this for 30 days, get the truth out and you know, just roll with the punches here. Theyre down to swinging pretty wildly here.
The Ragin Cajun said Republicans were focused on the IRS scandal because many of their political positions are being undercut by long-term trends.
Thats what theyre down to, Carville said. Remember that the earth is warming, and that the economy is growing, the deficit is shrinking, that health care costs are flattening out, that Benghazi was nothing and as I said, there may be something amiss in the Cincinnati office of the IRS. If there is, we should find out about it and fix it and if somebody did something wrong, they should be fired or brought to justice.

Oh it will be....I’m sure they’ve got a good “Wag the Dog” scenario in mind, my money’s on Syria.
“James Carville: This is all over in 30 days”
Obama’s resigning within 30 days? Thanks for the good news!
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!! You betcha Jimmy! Hahahahahahahahahahahaha! His arteries are hardening.
Unfortunately, he’s likely right.
Carvile is wrong. But I do love it when Democrats whistle past the graveyard.
That’s THEIR PLAN and they are STICKING to it!
In June the Supreme Gods In Black Dresses will decree that men may marry men and Gay Pride Month will be in full celebration.
The lavender mafia in the media will drop the current scandals like a hot potato.
No, we happen to honor the Constitution and get quite upset when people use it like their own personal roll of toilet paper.
Tell a lie long and loud enough stupid people believe it too.
My cynical side says he’s right.
Obama is as corrupt as the day is long,
but he’ll get away with it.
The problem is, as Kennedy stated, when you make it impossible to address corruption in non-violent ways,
violent means become inevitable.
Spare us the bullsh*t about global warming, etc. Tell us why you really believe it’ll be over in 30 days, Carvile.
I could use some of what he’s been smoking.
You can tell by the way NPR is reporting it that they really HOPE it is all over in 30 days. ;-)
Tell that to the families of those who were killed.
Face it, the snake is most probably correct.
I don’t think it will take a month. It will probably be a faint memory by the end of May.
What Mr. Spock looks like where James Carville lives.
BS flows forth.
If we subpoena the documents that the WH has refused to provide, which are NOT classified, they’re going to be dealing with more than 30 days worth of this.
Even if the scandals end, Obamacare comes along, his agenda is effectively neutered and a lot of eyes will be a let less widely shut. :)
30 days is the new “long time ago”
This was never going on in the world of the low information voters to begin with.
Wait a year when they can’t go to the doctor or their insurance premiums are double, and those LIV’s won’t be able to bury their heads in the sand any longer.
It’s over in 30 days because the summer recess begins and that gives em time to conjure up a New distraction
In Clinton’s second year in office everything was going wrong and his administration was starting to be ridiculed as hopelessly in over their heads, high school student council types. The press was starting to do real damage. Then, suddenly, they looked around and said to themselves “What are we doing?”. Immediately, the attacks stopped and the (somewhat deserved - “They made me use the rear exit. Whaaa”) pillorying of Newt Gingrich began.
We may see the same thing here but the interesting difference in the dynamic is Hillary and her viability.
0bama may well survive. But all this scandal stuff could make him very unpopular. Voters may well choose to demonstrate their displeasure by voting against Dems in 2014. That, not impeachment, is the Dems’ worst nightmare.
Nothing is going to come of this, no one is going to hold him or anyone else accountable for this or anything else.
Our government is totally out of control.
I also think he’s correct. This administration will continue to stonewall and lie and the MSM will grow weary and move on. Just look at Fast and Furious, it’s become a nonissue.
None of these things are true so Carville may be wrong provided the Republicans grow a pair. If they do fire or bring to justice those responsible then Obama is gone.
The highlight of the comments from the WH so far is Obama admonishing Congress not to "politicize" the IRS investigation. Hutzpah.
Agreed. The idiot in the White House is untouchable.
Carville’s correct...unless Obastard declares “woah” on his enemies. Then it will be prolonged for a very long time.
It then won't matter what the GOP, FNC, or the alternative media do - it'll just be 'paranoid static'.
Cargill is correct
See ! See what happens when our fearless leader goes golfing and forgets his Blackberry ? Well now that hes back on the job we wont have to worry anymore. Shame on those nasty people who took advantage of his absence by crushing groups critical of our great and fearless one. We know if he was there he would have nothing to do with their nefarious and illegal activities. He said so and we believe everything he says and does.
2008 Carville was right. We lost 2012 and have another 36 years to go.
The press, after a few weeks of phony anger at Obama, will never allow Obama to be permanently weakened or removed from office.
The economy is modestly improving.
That will be the new, number one story by the end of the month.
That - and Amnesty - which will probably pass in the House, and give Democrats a political majority for generations.
Yes, that’s right. If no one is talking about it isn’t happening and it never did happen.
Maybe if we had a senate and congress that took its functions seriously, there might be something, but we do not have either of those.
It’s going to be this is old news, we’re moving on, we have to do the business of the American people blah, blah, blah.
He is working toward that end. Never let an enemy back up after you get him down. No use to have him hit the ground without finishing him. More merciful for him, you and your team mates.
He who is the most committed wins. I am. I encourage conservatives to be, too.
Remember that the earth is warming, and that the economy is growing, the deficit is shrinking, that health care costs are flattening out, that Benghazi was nothing...”
Ole Serpenthead, you’re wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong,
WRONG. Five out of Five ain’t bad eh.
In thirty days, it will all just be STARTING.
Nope, he’s correct. The MSM will move on to the next crisis exploited by The One.
Corporal cueball carville is probably right. At least where the government controlled media is concerned.
Of course, this only works for Democrats.
The republicans are never going to grow a pair.
The GOP does not believe in conservatism or small government or anything of the sort.
“Benghazi was nothing “
If you don’t mind wading through the dead bodies. More people died there than in the Boston Marathon bombing.
If this Cajun would do a little less ragin' a little more thinkin' he might know that the earth is not warming but cooling, today's numbers do not reflect healthy growth, the deficit is shrinking in the context of a ominous amount of quantitative easing by the fed which is a deficit entirely off the books, and the IRS scandal has already spread far beyond the Cincinnati office.
In a matter of a few months Obama care will strike both the economy and the personal lives of Americans and the reaction will not be pleasant for Barack Obama. The world economy is fragile and a misstep anywhere such as in tottering Europe, the planned economy of China, or the brics which are utterly dependent on growth elsewhere, could bring the American economy crashing down. The president's foreign policy is a shambles and Benghazi is the metaphor in blood for Obama's failure.
Ask yourself, if forced to argue one side or the other, which side would you choose, to defend the Obama record or to prosecute it?"
