Dan 'Fake but Accurate' Rather Weighs in on Obama Scandal Tsunami

Dan Rather, discredited CBS journalist, has weighed in on the recent scandals facing the Obama administration. He stated that the "controversies" are not in the same "cosmos" of Watergate.

“Those who compare it to Watergate, the Republicans, are always eager to jump on almost anything and say, ‘Well, it’s like Watergate,’” Rather said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “We’re not anywhere in the same cosmos as that. Keep in mind, with Watergate, while using the Internal Revenue Service to punish one’s opponents came directly from the president himself. That’s a fact. Now, in this case, we don’t even know whether the president was aware that this was happening.”

Rather went on to say that the GOP is probably "slapping high-five" behind closed doors.

No stranger to "controversies" himself, during the 2004 election Rather reported about memos (the Killian memos) he obtained that were critical of George W. Bush's service in the National Guard....

There were no dead Ambassador and diplomatic staff members.

Nixon didn't abscond with Associated Press communications.

Nixon didn't wire tap the Congressional cloak-room.

Nixon didn't have the IRS swoop in on political an religious enemies.

Nixon did have an enemies list, but he never did anything with it.  Obama has.

Nixon didn't give A. K. 47s to foreign nationals, then see those nationals come back to kill two of our border agents.

Nixon's administration was not the direct cause of upwards of 200 foreign nationals at the hands of people he had armed.

Nixon didn't demand we refuse to acknowledge certain people are terrorists, commit terrorist acts, and kill our people on purpose.

Nixon didn't trash most of our allies within his first term.

Nixon didn't support our global enemies.

Nixon didn't sell our our allies, and arm their adversaries.

Dan, you've been pampered for way too long.  Shut up.

This administration is the worst in U. S. history.  Nixon and his administration didn't do 5% of the crap this foreign national and his administration has.

Nixon's greatest crime was beating McGovern in a landslide. No one in the media voted for Nixon and they didn't know anyone who had. Clearly, Nixon had to be punished for stealing the election from all of those hard working hippies and limousine liberals who were running the McGovern campaign.

If Nixon had called himself a Democrat he would have been lauded by the left. Nixon enacted wage and price controls and affirmative action programs, he created the Environmental Protection Agency, the Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, he opened relations with communist China, and he ended Kennedy's and Johnson's war in Vietnam.

Today, he would be a liberal's wet dream, if only he were a Democrat.

Nixon didn’t run and play golf when urgent national business needed attention.

Keep in mind, with Watergate, while using the Internal Revenue Service to punish one’s opponents came directly from the president himself.

Then why did the articles of impeachment say that Nixon endeavored to use the IRS?

Why such a fancy word? "To attempt (fulfillment of a responsibility or an obligation, for example) by employment or expenditure of effort."

Why not a simple declaration that Nixon used the IRS?

In Benghazi, top officials stood by while Americans were murdered on foreign soil by terrorists without doing everything in their power to save them. In Watergate, a POTUS after the fact covered up a burglary in which the "victims"were other politicians, IOW barely a life form, and what was stolen was information with which to gain political advantage in an election. I'll say they're not in the same cosmos.
