The IRS does not tolerate anyone even fudging on the law, much less thumbing their nose at it. If some taxpayer were to obfuscate during an audit the way these clowns are doing the "its not political" song and dance, they would turn the taxpayer over to the Justice Department for a Criminal Indictment and in the interim they would seize every single piece of property or asset they could get their hands on.

And yet somehow the taxpayers are expected to give the IRS the benefit of the doubt?

I want these B@$+@rds prosecuted, I want their property seized to pay their fines, I want their pensions revoked. After they get out of prison, I want to send them to the same poorhouse that they so frequently send American Taxpayers who make the slightest error on their overly complicated tax forms.

Show no mercy. The IRS does not show mercy to any taxpayer, so we should not be merciful to them. If this were a true "ship of state" we would be hanging these creeps by the yard arms.

The only way to ensure this never happens again is if everyone involved gets a serious prison sentence, at least as serious as the IRS gives to people convicted of tax evasion (like Al Capone). Let's reopen Alcatraz and send them all there.

Since when does someone quitting a job, insulate them from punishment, much less testifying?

Quitting is a separate act from being questioned and being punished.

Does this keep them safe from any prosecution?

Does this mean they get a bigger retirement than they thought?

If “Retire” is an IRS term for having a “chainsaw enema” then it almost sounds ok... Yes, in that case then let’s “retire” him.

right! How many layers of management are there between those low level rogue employees and this guy retiring (that’s ‘retiring’, not ‘resigning’ - big difference)

Probably “fired” just like the acting director... PARSE their words... what they mean was that he was already retiring on June 3... the same exact date that the acting director was retiring on. We know the director was already retiring and I will lay odds that this guy was all set up to retire on June 3.

“Good to know this fine upstanding organization will be so key in our healthcare.”

it just gets worse. Fox news is reporting that:

“The ObamaCare official in question, Sarah Hall Ingram, [who] had been serving as commissioner of the office responsible for tax-exempt organizations from 2009 to 2012 — the division included the group that targeted Tea Partiers — and has since left to serve as director of the IRS’ Affordable Care Act division. That unit is responsible for enforcing parts of the health care law, including the fines associated with the so-called individual mandate — the requirement to buy health insurance.”

I am so very sick of government employee “disipline” amounting to a little 5-minute couseling followed by transfer to another lazy-butt post.

These government gold-bricking lifers (and I include Obama) have NO CLUE how hard people in the private sector work and how serious they are REQUIRED to be about the quality of their work. If this was the private sector, corporate security would have already walked a hundred of these IRS goons to the parking lot and told them “don’t ever come back, but we will see you in court.”

They didn't need a resume from her, they didn't need a background check, they didn't have any questions....they just wanted to know if she would be a whore for Obama.
