WASHINGTON As second top Internal Revenue Service official has announced plans to leave the agency amid the controversy over the targeting of tea party groups.
My, such a harsh response.
‘Retire’. As in with pension and benefits?
Ya. Sounds like ‘Take a lifetime vacation at our expense, true and faithful servant’.
well can’t fire them they may lose all their benefits
But...but...but... it was only a couple of “rogue” employees in the break room at the Cincinnati office... Why should the bigwigs retire/resign?
Yep. And next year they will get a better paying job somewhere in the government.
Just heard it on the local Orlando news too ... the story has gone viral.
Normally, I resent having to provide room and board year after year for convicted criminals behind bars; but in these cases I would be happy to see my tax dollars used to support them for a few years.
PROSECUTE ERIC HOLDER FOR PERJURY (LYING TO CONGRESS), OBSTRUCTION, ILLEGAL WIRETAPPING, TREASON, ETC..!!!!
These people RIGGED A NATIONAL ELECTION.
Good to know this fine upstanding organization will be so key in our healthcare.
Retire to a jail cell!
RETIRE!? And draw a retirement check!?
I wonder if this is the guy who told the flunkies to do it?
It depends. In its true form, amnesty is often given in return for turning state’s evidence.
And yet somehow the taxpayers are expected to give the IRS the benefit of the doubt?
I want these B@$+@rds prosecuted, I want their property seized to pay their fines, I want their pensions revoked. After they get out of prison, I want to send them to the same poorhouse that they so frequently send American Taxpayers who make the slightest error on their overly complicated tax forms.
Show no mercy. The IRS does not show mercy to any taxpayer, so we should not be merciful to them. If this were a true "ship of state" we would be hanging these creeps by the yard arms.
The only way to ensure this never happens again is if everyone involved gets a serious prison sentence, at least as serious as the IRS gives to people convicted of tax evasion (like Al Capone). Let's reopen Alcatraz and send them all there.
Since when does someone quitting a job, insulate them from punishment, much less testifying?
Quitting is a separate act from being questioned and being punished.

Does this keep them safe from any prosecution?
Does this mean they get a bigger retirement than they thought?
If “Retire” is an IRS term for having a “chainsaw enema” then it almost sounds ok... Yes, in that case then let’s “retire” him.

Probably another scumbag who was scheduled to retire in a month or two and this way Obama can say “See Im taking charge here” PLEASE..everything Obama does is orchestrated
Yeah, we are still stuck with the bill of paying the pensions for these crooks. #obamasideaofjustice
NO CONSEQUENSES FOR POLITICIANS COMMITING CRIMES IS EXACTLY WHY THIS GOVERNMENT HAS BECOME SO CORRUPT!! FORGET THE TAR AND FEATHERS, BUILD SOME GALLOWS AND START USING THEM ON THESE DC SCOUNDRALS
right! How many layers of management are there between those low level rogue employees and this guy retiring (that’s ‘retiring’, not ‘resigning’ - big difference)
Oh, goody, another scapegoat.
So if an agent of the government is found breaking the law, they are given a paid vacation ?
Probably “fired” just like the acting director... PARSE their words... what they mean was that he was already retiring on June 3... the same exact date that the acting director was retiring on. We know the director was already retiring and I will lay odds that this guy was all set up to retire on June 3.
“Good to know this fine upstanding organization will be so key in our healthcare.”
it just gets worse. Fox news is reporting that:
“The ObamaCare official in question, Sarah Hall Ingram, [who] had been serving as commissioner of the office responsible for tax-exempt organizations from 2009 to 2012 — the division included the group that targeted Tea Partiers — and has since left to serve as director of the IRS’ Affordable Care Act division. That unit is responsible for enforcing parts of the health care law, including the fines associated with the so-called individual mandate — the requirement to buy health insurance.”
“it just gets worse.”
The entire Obama Regime is EVIL!
They leave unpunished and are replaced by people just as bad.
I am so very sick of government employee “disipline” amounting to a little 5-minute couseling followed by transfer to another lazy-butt post.
These government gold-bricking lifers (and I include Obama) have NO CLUE how hard people in the private sector work and how serious they are REQUIRED to be about the quality of their work. If this was the private sector, corporate security would have already walked a hundred of these IRS goons to the parking lot and told them “don’t ever come back, but we will see you in court.”
They didn't need a resume from her, they didn't need a background check, they didn't have any questions....they just wanted to know if she would be a whore for Obama.
While Obama is a total ideologue, dishonest, and a political manipulator, at the same time, the guy seems like a total ly hopeless managerial moron. Or maybe he’s just pretending to be stupid?
Listening to the radio either on Glenn Beck or Sean Hannity, it was said that it took two - three years to fire an IRS employee because of a process that has to be achieved through legalities of the civil service employment program. the people are not rogues, they were instructed by Obama to do this as a part of way to get around the Constitution. The US Constitution has been made irrelevant
