Bipartisan House Group Reaches Preliminary Immigration Deal
New York Times ^ | May 16, 2013, 11:37 pm | ASHLEY PARKER

A bipartisan group in the House working on an overhaul of the nation’s immigration laws reached a deal in principle Thursday evening, aides said. The group plans to introduce its bill in June.

Details of the compromise were not released, but, much like a bill introduced in the Senate, the House legislation will include a path to legalization for the 11 million undocumented workers already in the country, as well as increased border security measures. The House version, though, is expected to be more conservative in its approach to granting illegal immigrants a path to citizenship, among a number of central issues.

It will most likely include a 15-year path to citizenship, rather than the 13-year path offered in the Senate proposal, as well as requiring illegal immigrants to sign an admission that they had violated United States immigration laws, aides said.

The House group had been meeting and working on a nearly parallel track with a similar bipartisan group in the Senate, which has already introduced legislation that is now before the Senate Judiciary Committee. But until Thursday, the House group had yet to reach an agreement, and earlier this week the Republican members had threatened to walk away and introduce legislation of their own if a compromise could not be reached.

The two-hour meeting Thursday evening, a last-ditch effort to save the legislation, finally produced the agreement in principle.

Some of these are trying to say this is “conservative” reform. BS. the IRS shut down the tea party .We would have had a lot more real conservative republicans in Congress if the IRS had not rigged the election of 2012. the commercials are non stop on Rush , Hannity et al. ao ia

We should stop these bills . but what are we doing are we emailing Rush, Hannity etc.,MaLkin etc. are we leading marches to DC against this amnesty bill? are we trying to get the word on on the Internet that this bill must be stopped . I don't see anyone doing much of anything against this.

The R House stopped Bush's Amnesty . If there is a chance to stop this then we have to have an opposition campaign. they are fooled into believing it is conservative immigration reform.it's not . They won't telepathically read our minds.

Speaker John A. Boehner had talked to the Republican members of the group last week and urged them to produce a bill.

Naturally, Boehner's been lying all along when asked if such a group existed and whether or not they were trying to come up with this proposed bill.

Why Boehner Will Betray His Base on Immigration

In addition to Gutierrez and Becerra, the other Democrats involved in the House group are Reps. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) and John Yarmuth (D-Ky.).

On the Republican side are Reps. John Carter and Sam Johnson, both from Texas; Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.); and Raul Labrador (R-Idaho).

This whole amnesty deal is more damaging to our sovereignty than IRS or Benghazi. With this action the Libs are pretty much guaranteed a majority of power for next decade at least.

My opinion is, the purpose of the amnesty is to get a new generation of Lib voters.

So much for jobs. who you gonna hire? 6-8.00(?)/ hr person or a citizen expecting 9-15.00/ hr ????

What’s scary is not only is this legalizing 30 million illegals, plus adding 60 million of their kin by chain migration, but even the fig leaf of border and enforcement laws that it is wrapped with will be no more enforced than our current ones.

With all thhe scandal distractions, this, which is truly criminal, is moving ahead under the radar.

I’m assuming “bi-partisan group” means two rats and one RINO. How does that equate to the House backing amnesty for illegals?

As one who knows the difference, I would say there isn’t a helluva lot of difference. Either will suffice for the scum that is selling us out.

Today’s D.C. interpretation of “Bipartisan” = Repubs gave, and Dems took.

The government has been pushing the lie that there are only 11 million illegals here. Ten years ago they said it was 12 million and growing by one million a year. The real number is probably closer to 25 million and growing every day.

Now the Gang Of Eight want to offer some sort of amnesty (or whatever word they currently use to pretend it’s not amnesty) to the 11 million illegals they claim are here.

If you want to test how confident they are of that number being correct, just demand that they limit any proposals for amnesty or legalized status to the 11 million they claim are here.

Then watch them start scuffing in the dirt and slinking away like the lying rats they really are

Is the federal government even pursuing so much as ONE of its constitutionally-mandated obligations?
