Kraft’s politics seem to be that of a typical businessman who funds the party in power (which is Dem in Massachusetts). But he is very good friends with Rush Limbaugh and Donald Trump. He is no liberal partisan.

If he does buy I look forward to the hatchet he’ll wield in the sports dept. Some of the columnists are insufferable(Dan Shaugnessy to start)

Analysts predict a selling price point of $80 million to $120 million. The Globe was sold in 1993 to the Times Co. for $1.1 billion.

Evidently Kraft bought some land around there, and that may be part of the reason why the value is so much less. Of course the state of print media sure didn’t help.

I’m not sure why Kraft would want to invest in this dying medium.

Hopefully the first thing he does is fire Dan Shaughnessy.

He does own a paper company. Kraft is no dummy. If there’s value he;ll buy. Plus the asking price is peanuts to him

You think Shank is a bit nervous that “Thanks Myra” could be his boss? LOL!

As a (many years) FORMER Globe reader, I’d advise Kraft to examine why so many readers bailed out on the Globe.
Once I read it to see what “other opinions” were. When the paper insulted my intelligence and everything I believed in, I quit, as have other thousands.
I’d hope that Mr. Kraft would abandon a proven failure of a policy. (I do hope!!)

He’s a democrat, but more of a moderate. His son Johnathan, the Patriot’s president held fundraisers for Romney.

I agree... Jonathan is a republican in hiding, IMO. He was a Bain guy. And supported Romney.

Robert is a Dem but really is a closet Republican too. He only appears to be a Dem to get things done in Massachusetts. (I think his deceased wife, Myra, was more liberal.)

You don’t attend Limbaugh’s wedding, have Limbaugh attend Myra’s funeral, and have Rush as a guest in owner’s suite at Super Bowls - and somehow hold partisan left wing views. He’s also very patriotic and religious. Two strikes in the Dem party.
