Georgiana was the half-sister of the actresses Sally Blane, Polly Ann Young, and movie and television star Loretta Young, who nicknamed her "Georgie". After sixty-three years of marriage, she died at the age of 83, on November 13, 2007, from undisclosed causes, predeceasing her husband by fourteen months.
The object of Khan's attraction in "Space Seed" was Lt. Marla McGivers, the Ship's Historian, not Science Officer. She was played by Madlyn Rhue, a very comely actress who played many character parts in many TV series from the mid-1950s into the late 1990s.
In 1977, Rhue came down with multiple sclerosis but continued to work, including a role on the soap opera "Days of our Lives" using a wheelchair.
There was though given in 1981 to reprise her role as Marla McGivers but given her being confined to a wheelchair, her character was written out as being dead before Chekov and Terrell beam down.
