Gov. Perry: I Cannot Support Lackluster Immigration Bill [Includes Video]

There is no way Texas Gov. Rick Perry can support the bipartisan immigration reform bill because, he says, it fails to deal satisfactorily with border security.

"You cannot have a legitimate conversation about immigration reform until you deal with the issue of border security. And, as far as I'm concerned, this bill does not address it,'' Perry told Newsmax TV in an exclusive interview.

Perry is way off the mark. As Marco Rubio has explained many times, the bill will provide border security like never before. He says that if there is not a solid proposal for securing the border in 6 years, there will be a commission appointed!

/facepalm

I want us to control this situation. No more chain immigration and no more automatic family reunification.

But these people don’t crawl across the Mexican border. They’re legally admitted and come in through Customs and Immigration in your very own airport. I travel internationally a lot, and if I hear another call for an Arabic translator at the Atlanta airport....

I was thinking more along the lines of “securing the border.”

Did you realize, though, that under the 1986 law, illegally crossing the border was only a misdemeanor?

And that's one of the problems with "securing the border". A misdemeanor offense is not going to get treated seriously.

It’s one of the more frustrating issues of this time. We
are...no insult to anyone here I hope....overrun here in
my area...and sure the rest of the state is, too.

Shoulda happened 10 years ago...without a committee!!

Thanks for the PING.

Gov. Perry may be a good ol’ boy to y’all, but his fantasy of a “secure” border in Texas is just another money pit that will have little or no effect.

The US/Mexico Border is over 2, 000 miles long, with 1200 of those miles in Texas.

Mexicans and other alien illegal invaders enter the USA for Welfare and Wages.

Deny Welfare to aliens and aggressively collect fines US employers of $1,000 per hired alien illegal invader, per day.

Other necessary effective additions to the Rubio 8 Senate Gangsters Bill are repeal and abolish the Anchor Baby Law and the Treat for free Hospital Emergency Room Law.

BTW, what Welfare and Wages treatment would US Legal Citizens receive in Mexico if we illegally invaded Mexico?

The bottom line is that the US Border Invasion by illegal aliens has overwhelmed the USA since 1986, and now it is all about the money, our money - - - .

They’re already here, so examine them and if they’re not harmful to the US, let them stay

Yeah sure. YOU pay for their welfare, food stamps, Section 8 housing, school education, and health care.
Knock yourself out.

Of course you know that chain immigration & family reunification are in this bill, and WILL not be taken out....that’s a solid fact. There is no talk by republicans or democrats of ever ending chain immigration. So if you support amnesty you support 50 million poor third wolders who will vote for democrats. Most of these new citizens will also be on some kind of welfare. It will be the end of the USA as we know it.

Just wondering, what WOULD the Perry disinformers and haters say if Perry was FOR the bill.

Seeing as how he’s savaged when firmly against it.

MY MY.

Thanks, Rick.

Here’s one who gets it.

Secure the border, shut up about everything else. That’s your position. I can read, and I don’t hate.

Jerry Patterson who is running for Lt. Governor is devoting a substantial portion of his campaigning to greatly increasing the guest worker program. Not sure if any other Republicans have thrown their hat in the ring yet but his is sure not the one to vote for.

I think we already have enough “guest” workers...unwanted ones!

No...I had heard that Greg Abbott was running, but totally not sure.

Also heard that about Abbott. He would be a great Lt. Gov. but we really need him to remain as AG. Maybe we could just clone Abbott and Senator Cruz while we were at it.

I remember Perry saying, when running in 2012, that everyone should refuse to even discuss immigration law changes, that the only discussion ought to be, secure the border.

That’s what’s wrong with this stupid bill in Congress. Apparently it goes on and on and on with these complicated, detailed plans and schemes and we all know the border isn’t and won’t be secured.

And the other thing that’s wrong is that we the people are being run roughshod over by these secret groups in Congress negotiating to create a montrosity of a bill of which we have no knowledge and no control.

Oh yeah, and we have a regime in power that is only interested in getting around what laws we have and we’re supposed to believe they would enforce other laws? And the face of this in Congress is people like Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin??

Rubio and now Paul Ryan make me ill.

I’m really getting tired of the Rubio and Ryan ad running on local radio and TV. Rubio says illegals will come out of the shadows, pay a fine, and not be elegible for benefits for 13? years. Why would any of the illegals who are getting benefits come out of the shadow, pay a fine and stop getting benefits? He goes on to say the first thing will be to secure the border. I know the rat Senator in Ohio (Brown) and Chuckie Schumer have amnesty first on the list. We’re being sold a bill of goods by representatives moving over to the establishment darkside.

I was furious when Rubio turned on us and pandered to the illegal element just because they are mostly his race.

I call that racist!

They run seems like every few minutes on all the conservative radio talk shows, and they claim to be “conservatives” for immigration reform. I’m about to throw something at the radio, or throw the radio itself, I’m so fed up.

I’m wondering what Paul Ryan’s excuse could be, since he’s as far from that ethnicity as he can be.

I’m wondering if the GOP E might be planning to pretend that they’re listening to the Tea Party and are willing to throw Jeb Bush under the bus in favor of a Ryan/Rubio ticket, which would CLAIM to be conservative.

Which would then go and “outreach” to Hispanics and Homosexuals(Ryan supports some gay issues) to say, hey, we’re not so bad, pretty please won’t you consider voting for us?

Meanwhile to mollify the Tea Party they will verbally attack “big government in Washington”.

Just a thought.

It’s those ADS that got me to wondering if that could be their plan.

Heaven knows what the agenda is at this point. I do know that I agree with Barbara Bush that we don’t need any more Bushes! :)

Yes, she got that one right.

Will be keeping a sharp eye on the Ryan and Rubio tag team after being inundated with those utterly obnoxious ads.

The ad makers and R/R must think we’re awfully stupid. They are an insult to us all.
