EPA waives fee requests for friendly groups, denies conservative groups
Washington Examiner ^ | 5/14/13 | Michal Conger

Posted on 05/17/2013 10:18:15 PM PDT by Kartographer

For 92 percent of requests from green groups, the EPA cooperated by waiving fees for the information. Those requests came from the Natural Resources Defense Council, EarthJustice, Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, The Waterkeeper Alliance, Greenpeace, Southern Environmental Law Center and the Center for Biological Diversity.

Of the requests that were denied, the EPA said the group either didn’t respond to requests for justification of a waiver, or didn’t express intent to disseminate the information to the general public, according to documents obtained by The Washington Examiner.

CEI, on the other hand, had its requests denied 93 percent of the time. One request was denied because CEI failed to express its intent to disseminate the information to the general public. The rest were denied because the agency said CEI “failed to demonstrate that the release of the information requested significantly increases the public understanding of government operations or activities.”

It's in the first paragraph of the article:

Conservative groups seeking information from the Environmental Protection Agency have been routinely hindered by fees normally waived for media and watchdog groups, while fees for more than 90 percent of requests from green groups were waived, according to requests reviewed by the Competitive Enterprise Institute.

[[Making cryptography a prerequisite isn’t helping your cause.]

nor is positing informal rants by myself on an itnernet forum- I’m just here to rant- not to be slave to spell checkers- I realize my posts suck- please feel free to ignore htem- what I say informally on an internet forum doesn’t amount to a pisshole in the snow really- I make far too many spellign mistakes to take hte time to go over my psots- as I’m pressed for time when I’m posting- I used to be very good at spelling, and even editor of my school newspaper back before spell checkers werre avasilable (the spell checker was the dioctionary) but as health issues became more evident, and spellign mistakes more frequent, I got overwhelmed by the mistakes, and just quit corerwectign htem-

Many greatm idns were notoriously bad spellers who’s editors had a tough time correcting- Not that I’m a gret mind, just sayin-

[[There’s a consistent modus operandi in every case. Obama doesn’t run anything, so there are no dots that will ever connect to him.]]

Agtreed- Which is why I think there ism ore to connect our dearl eader to benghazi than there is for irs and epa UNLESS some folsk i nthsoe organizatiosn who wILL be thrown under the bus coem clean and become whistle blowers (but it woudl take icnredible courage o ntheir part- riskign hteir lives even)

There are a coupel of smokign guns in the Benghazi tragedy, but like you say- our dear leader was pretty careful abotu distancing hismelf fro mthe dirty work in the irs and epa and AP attack but he got careless on benghazi showign America just how incompetent he is and how little he really cares abotu ANYONE other than himself- The fact that he went to bed to prepare for a fundraqiser for HIMSELF the next day whiel 4 Americans spent hours in terror fightign for theirl ives ‘should be’ enough to get him impeached (provided the damn msm do their actual jobs for once) sand in my opinion is the angle we shoudl be pushign right now without any other distractions-

the other issues are important, but again, they don’t rise to hte level of showign his incompetence and his care less attitude and depraved indifference to human life when it coems to others

[[My apologies. I think I’ll ask the mods to delete the whole post and thread as it seems its post offends far to many FReepers and I really don’t need the grief.]]

Pffff- it’s a good htread- the basic premise is sound- the EPA is attackign conservatives and givign liberals breaks- same as the IRS was doing- peopel need to be aware of this- I don’t get bogged down in thigns ther than the main issue- which is that our govenrment is tyranically attackign conservatives-

My psots were not that these issues shoudln’t be discussed, but my premise is that in my opinion the msot important issue at hand in regards directly connecting dear leader to scandal is the benghazi tragedy—\\

The IRS and EPA issue is important i nregards to how it directly affects citizens-

Sorry if my posts seemd liek I was sayign not to post such articles-

I was a teenager at the time; but in the post-hippy days there was some increasing awareness of pollution issues; many legit.

I remember the haze and funk around the stockyards in KC. Cities back east and out west had permanent smog hazes in their basins. A river somewhere up east caught on fire...

But as usual, the federal solution over-corrected and in 40 years has become an overreaching, business stifling monster infested by progressives with an agenda to reduce US commerce to zilch and put us all on 10-speed bikes or electric cars in high-tech green slavery.

Did Nixon do it to divert attention, or was he being bipartisan and global (He opened China)? Not sure, but the EPA of today is an albatross around our necks.
