WASHINGTON White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer said Sunday Republicans owe Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, an apology for alleging she played a part in formulating the White Houses response to the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, last year that killed four Americans.
Pfeiffer said on ABCs This Week that the release of more than 100 pages of Benghazi emails and notes show beyond a shadow of the doubt that accusations she tried to change the narrative of what happened in the attacks was false.
"And, frankly, I think that many of the Republicans who have been talking about this, now that they have seen the emails, owe Ambassador Rice an apology for the things they said about her in the wake of the attack, he said.
An apology for what? host George Stephanopoulos asked.
For accusing her of misleading the country, Pfeiffer said, adding, For saying that she didn't -- that somehow we were -- she was involved in some sort of political whitewash of what happened there. What she said was what the intelligence community believed at the time. And when we got further information, we told the American people what that was. That's how people know what happened here.
Pfeiffers comments arent likely to sit well with some, like GOP lawmakers like Sens. Lindsey Graham and John McCain, who led the charge against her and claimed she played an active role in the conspiracy to hide what actually happened during the Benghazi attacks.

I don’t believe Gobbels ever personally ran a concentration camp. But he, like Rice willfully passed false information under color of authority.
She should get similar treatment for her betrayal of America.
Obama Aide: ‘Irrelevant’ Who Edited Benghazi Talking Points
MAY 19, 2013
Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer said this morning on TV that it’s “irrelevant” who edited the Benghazi talking points:
And the question isn’t who edited what talking points. That is largely irrelevant. What is relevant is to make sure that never happens again which is why the president is calling on Congress to pass legislation to beef up embassy security around the world and protect our diplomats.”
*******
Pass more legislation that we will just ignore. Yeah, that should “ fix” the problem!
this administration and its crony democrats are so far beyond even being in the realm of arrogance in their public lies and denials, this is astounding. That in its self is a scandal worthy of prosecution. Itâs just sad that there arenât more in Congress willing to uphold their oath of office in protecting this country from these criminals. Congress should at least pass immediate legislation to disarm the DHS before its too late.
ROTFLOL
According to Hillary Clintons long-delayed Benghazigate testimony, the State Department just did not have enough money to provide security for a mission in one of the most dangerous places in the world.
It did however have 16 million dollars to spend on 2,500 kindle book readers at the drastically inflated price of $6,600 per device.
How much security could that 16 million buy?
It had $79,000 to spend on Obamas books and $20,000 on a portrait of Obama. The US Embassy had $150,000 to spend on a book about the ambassadors residence. The US Embassy in Austria had $150,000+ for a Chevy Volt and its charging station.
And here is what else Hillarys State Department did have money for
7.9 billion dollars for Obamas Global Health Initiative.
1 billion for global climate change.
2.2 billion to strengthen democratic institutions in Pakistan.
And of course Mosque renovations.
In 2011 the State Department provided funds to restore the 15th century Gobarau Minaret in Katsina State in Nigerias predominantly Muslim north, an area which has become a virtual killing field for Christians at the hands of Muslim militants, led by the al-Qaeda-linked terror group Boko Haram.
And $4.5 million for Art in Embassies
The New York Times reported in 2009 that Art in Embassies spends about $4.5 million a year for permanent art acquisitions; chief curator Virginia Shore said at the time that artists and dealers support the program via favorable pricing; for the embassy in Beijing, an outlay of $800,000 yielded works with an appraised value of $30 million.
How much Benghazi security would 800,000 dollars have bought? If Hillary Clinton had stopped buying paintings, maybe four Americans would still be alive today.
The State Department also has a Chief Diversity Officer, whose job it is to warn that holding the fort is a racist phrase.
As far as security goes, 200 million dollars were wasted on Iraqi police training that never went anywhere.
I apologize to Rice for her being appointed to a job she wasn’t capable of handling, OK?
OK Suzie, you were used.
Now tell me where your 45 million came from.
What’s more, I maintain the Ubama / Chicago mob is seriously considering running Moochelle in 2016. The Chicago mob does not relinquish power easily. If they do run Moochelle - - and glimpses of the grooming process are there if you look for them - - then we will see a mob war between the Chicago mafia and the Dixie mafia that should be really, really good.
Stock up on popcorn.
No, no, no! It’s the Republican ‘war against women’.
Are you going to believe Rice, or your own lyin’ ears?
Who does this advisor say gave the command to stand down in Benghzi? By all means, let him speak.
Sorry that your prison cell has basic cable. We'll take that away tomorrow.
Amazing. Release 1% of the emails. Tell us they don’t really mean what they say, then demand an apology for telling America what they said.
OK, now fire her ass.
Here’s the apology: I’m sorry you’re such a scumbag and pathetic liar.
Lying is one thing this administration is really good at.
Yeah, like the Jews owe Hitler an apology. /s
These bastards must surely think the American public is "brain dead."
You know this is getting to be a daily occurrence... ain't it?
"Sure, four American are dead but that... is irrelevant.
As to the IRS, AP and Benghazi scandals, I do not remember a thing and whether I do or not... is irrelevant.
Sure, I screamed "Allah Akbar" when I killed 13 and wounded 30 in my Fort Hood workplace violence, but that... is irrelevant.
Al-Awlaki told me to have a bomb in my underwear to kill all those on Northwest Airlines Flight 253 but that... is irrelevant.
So we nuke Israel and kill all Jews, but that.. is irrelevant.
Sure I gassed them and they are dead, but that... is irrelevant.
Yeah, I told her to "put some ice on that." Yet that... is irrelevant.
When I returned, Mary Jo and the car were gone, but that... is irrelevant.
All the purges, the Gulag, millions and millions murdered, but that... is irrelevant.
Six million dead here, ten million there, twenty million or so more, but that... is irrelevant.
I would tell old Dan Pfeiffer to go Pfyuck himself, but that... would be irrelevant as he evidently loves doing that over and over again--
