Schieffer to Obama Advisor: ‘Why Are You Here? Why Isn’t the White House Chief of Staff here?'
News Busters - CBS ^ | May 19, 2013 | Noel Sheppard

See the video of the exchange via the link

DAN PFEIFFER, SENIOR WHITE HOUSE ADVISOR: The point that our Chief of Staff is making is that this is the Republican playbook here which is try, when they don't have a positive agenda, try to drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped up hearings and false allegations. We're not going to let that distract us and the President from actually doing the people's work and fighting for the middle class.

BOB SCHIEFFER, HOST: You know, I don’t want to compare this in any way to Watergate. I do not think this is Watergate by any stretch. But you weren't born then I would guess, but I have to tell you that is exactly the approach that the Nixon administration took. They said, “These are all second-rate things. We don't have time for this. We have to devote our time to the people's business.” You’re taking exactly the same line they did.

After Pfeiffer continued with evasive talking points, Schieffer again scolded:

SCHIEFFER: But Mr. Pfeiffer, and I don't mean to be argumentative here, but the President is in charge of the executive branch of the government. It’s my, I'll just make this as an assertion: when the executive branch does things right, there doesn't seem to be any hesitancy of the White House to take credit for that. When Osama bin Laden was killed, the President didn't waste any time getting out there and telling people about it.

But with all of these things, when these things happen, you seem to send out officials many times who don't even seem to know what has happened. And I use as an example of that Susan Rice who had no connection whatsoever to the events that took place in Benghazi, and yet she was sent out, appeared on this broadcast, and other Sunday broadcasts, five days after it happens, and I'm not here to get in an argument with you about who changed which word in the talking points and all that. The bottom line is what she told the American people that day bore no resemblance to what had happened on the ground in an incident where four Americans were killed.

“When he sacrifices the queen, it will be over.”

Who is the queen? If it's Hillary(!) that's not going to go over well with the Clintons. Hillary and Bill will have the political long knives out before that happens. If Barry thinks he can throw the Clintons under the bus to save his butt, he's got another think coming to him. You don't mess with the Clintons, Barry. You're really just a community organizer and not overly bright. The Clintons have a REAL body count of their enemies.

Sounds good, eh? Wild guess -- like all partisan media shills, Schieffer puts on a good show, the whole thing's scripted, and everyone on that side of the aisle hears what they need to put the whole thing behind them.

This Administration is doing real damage to this country, and I can’t wait until it’s gone.

The country, or the administration?

At this rate, the country will be gone before this administration is.

Wow. Schieffer is dangerously close to practicing journalism here. Maybe some of the old guard will remember what their role is and rake these lying toadies over the coals.

We can only hope. I went to journalism school in the mid 80’s. All they DID was IDOLIZE Woodward and Bernstein ...pounded it into our heads how we are to NEVER reveal our sources ...how the First Amendment was the “watchdog” of Democracy ...I mean, they really DID use to teach this stuff. I just don’t know what happened in the ensuing years to journalism.

These guys would be seen as GIANTS if they actually started to step up. Why they don’t want to be remembered that way, and not as lying, covering hacks ...I have no idea. For the most part, journalists used to run on coffee, cigarettes, and idealism ... it’ just not that way anymore.

Or maybe I’m misreading. Maybe Sheiffer was right in the sense this doesn’t compare to Watergate. This is worse. MUCH worse.

That's the way I took it because he followed it with a reference to Pfeiffer not yet being born at the time of Watergate. It seemed a dig at Pfeiffer being wet behind the ears.

I think it his hyper-libertarian attitude. Robert Bennet has taken on very liberal Democrat clients, including Bill Clinton & Clark Clifford. His brother William is, of course, a very conservative Republican.

And they send them to places where no one watches - like Bob Schieffer's CBS program.

“I saw this poofter getting smart with Chris Wallace this morning. Wallace should have *itch slapped the boy.”

Chris did a better job of handling this fecal matter spreader than my wife and I did watching this smarthy liar spreading his contemptible manure.

This WH releases emails then within and hour sends out a spokesweinie to tell US that what they said is not what they meant then complains when we tell America what they said.

This sentiment is all over the blogs, the claim that the Republicans "doctored" the released emails.

Did I miss something?

Nixon did not have his Interior Secretary charged with contempt of court, for a direct violation of a court order. (lift the gulf moratorium).

Nixon did not have his Attorney General, the top cop of the nation, charged with contempt of congress.

When I look at this Pfeiffer guy I’m thinking Lanny Davis out there in the 90’s fronting for the Clintons.

I’ve seen this stuff before and it can be described by the code words “Bravo Sierra”.

The young liberal media has already tried to put Bob Woodward out to pasture as a tired senile legendary reporter. You may be right about their next move with Schieffer. There is no loyalty among the modern truth artists when the story gets away from them.

The only thing worse than a young punk trying to school a life long journalist (liberal as he may be) is when the punk uses trite excuses as old and tired as time.
