Catherine Engelbrechts tale has all the markings of a classic conspiracy theory: She says she thinks that because of her peaceful political activity, she and her family was targeted for scrutiny by hostile federal agencies.
Yet as news emerges that the Internal Revenue Service wielded its power to obstruct conservative groups, Catherines story becomes credible and chilling. It also raises questions about whether other federal agencies have used their executive powers to target those deemed political enemies.
Before the Engelbrecht familys three-year ordeal began, Catherine says, I had no real expectation or preparation for the blood sport that American politics is. Sounding weary on the phone, she continues: Its all been a through-the-looking-glass experience.

Appalling abuse of power. The number of federal agencies involves stinks to high heaven and can only be accomplished by a coordinated effort.
All these stories need to be aired on television one be one every day
BOR, Huckabee & Judge Jeanie have done a yeoman's job.
Sounds like Nazi Germany, not the US.
How anyone can say that this doesn’t rise beyond the level of Watergate is extremely disturbing. We’re not just talking about government targeting of opposition political operatives in Washington. We’re talking about government targeting of private citizens, and the use of government to suppress and intimidate free speech.
I’m very despondent this morning thinking about the reality of where we are:
*Federal employees have become an extension of the DNC and part of the ground force of the democrat establishment in Washington.
*The IRS is being used as weapon, and probably the EPA as well.
*A huge swath of the media are in the tank for democrats, and are incapable of objective journalism.
*The entertainment industry throws millions of dollars at democrats, and makes propaganda-filled movies that would make Goebbels proud.
*We have federal courts and judges (e.g. the ninth circuit) that can be counted on to uphold liberal positions, and a Supreme Court that has multiple activist members who think of the Constitution as something that needs to be circumvented - not protected.
*We can no longer count on the integrity of our elections, or the integrity of our borders.
The list goes on and on, and is very, very frightening. We’ve gone maybe too far into the wormhole.
Wow, that’s a terrifying story.
The Obama regime clearly realized early on that people were not going to vote for him again and started taking “proactive” measures. Even the usual fraud wasn’t going to be enough, so it was important to suppress the voice of conservative groups and make people think there was no opposition or that it was just tiny and nutty. And this woman was a double threat, because she also wanted to do something about the classic Dem voter fraud she had seen while working in the polling place.
The Dems have always been trying to intimidate citizen volunteers and poll workers. I have been a GOP poll watcher in several elections, and I remember particularly the 2004 election, where all of the GOP poll watchers received an individually addressed legal letter from some Dem lawyers group with an ambiguous name. It was supposed to look and sound like it came from a government agency and cited sections of code under which we could be imprisoned for “interfering with” the elections. It was pretty scary, although essentially it was meaningless, and it terrified and confused many of the poll watchers to the extent that they either decided not to show up or, if they did appear, they were too frightened to challenge things that they saw.
Now that this lawless group is actually in power, the gloves are off and all of our agencies have been turned into a giant, crushing machine for keeping them in power.
I think we can still rescue ourselves if we can get Congress to act decisively NOW (that is, trace all of these plots back to their source, which is not some little flunky at the IRS or the Justice Dept.), demand high-level accountability including prison time for those involved, and defund Obamacare so that this oppressive structure cannot grow.
But if Obama and the radical left get away with this, it will truly be all over for the US and we will have a full-blown dictatorship.
they are fascist pigs
our government has become fascist pigs
If she’s squeaky clean, and Obama can be proved to have done these things, he’s in big trouble.
they are fascist pigs>>>>>>>>>>>>
You are right about that, but few realize that Obama is a fascist, or what it means for HOW he must be fought and defeated.
Really Good Read:
There , you have it. The rot started at the very top and spread throughout.
Your bulleted list got me thinking that it looks like a very similar one that appears in the Declaration of Independence.
I have a feeling this intimidation scandal is even bigger than we know.
This is a travesty. To think that FBI resources were dedicated to persecuting the Engelbrecht family, while the FBI ( complaining of too few resources)at the same time could not even share intel with the Boston City Police on the Tsarneav Brothers is unthinkable.
Heads need to roll.People need to be fired for purposefully
abrogating the Civil Rights and guaranteed Freedoms of the Engelbrecht family. It smacks of Hate Crime.
If you’re counting on Congress to be the white horse in all of this... It’s officially GAME OVER.
They’re the only people who can do anything about it. All of the organs of government and the agencies are compromised and even the judiciary is under such pressure (Obama is trying to pack the DC circuit court of appeals) that it really is up to Congress to keep after this.
So far, they have been the only ones who have done anything, so don’t give up. Giving up is what Obama wants us to do.
