The Democrats, the IRS and the Sleeping Giant
Townhall.com ^ | May 20, 2013 | Mark Baisley

Posted on 05/20/2013 10:52:34 AM PDT by Kaslin

As Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto of the Imperial Japanese Navy emerged from the IRS hearings in Congress on Friday, he was overheard to say, "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."

OK, so I am mixing metaphors.  But, that famous statement from the architect of the 1941 Pearl Harbor attack is the most descriptive quote I can think of for what happened in the Longworth Building in Washington, D.C. this past week.  The Democratic Party, and especially the outgoing Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, must be wondering if their confident stride over the past four years didn’t just gallop them right past a forbidden threshold.

It would be a mistake for the Democrats or for those reporting on this story to consider the IRS exploitations in isolation.  This is just one of a long train of abuses.  The first example arrived just three months into the Obama presidency with the usurpation of America’s transportation network.  In a complete disconnect from market demand, the Administration announced plansto fund the construction of high speed rails throughout the United States.

Soon after asserting their utopian commuter network, the Democratic controlled House and Senate granted the President his every wish to spend unprecedented amounts of borrowed money in the expansion of government.  And with the hiring of hundreds of thousands of additional government employees, the money laundering scheme of funding the Democratic Party through union membership dues rapidly escalated.

In spite of an economic crash and America’s longstanding desire to reduce the importation of Middle-Eastern oil, the Obama Administration put a stop to the Keystone Pipeline project.  Rather than creating tens of thousands of good paying jobs in America to bring Canadian oil to the states, those skill requirements will only be needed in Canada as the pipeline will instead bypass the United States on its way to the west coast.  America will continue to import oil from the Middle-East while Canada’s oil will be loaded on tankers bound for China.

The Obama Administration evinced a design to dictate where Boeing could locate its operation for assembling their new 787 Dreamliner aircraft.  The force of government was blatantly abused against a private company in order to benefit President Obama’s big labor friends and supporters.

The Environmental Protection Agency and the Endangered Species Act have both been abused to shut down businesses, farms, and recreation throughout the nation.  The radical environmentalists are kept happy in exchange for the Obama re-election campaign remaining well funded.

The Obama Administration, in cooperation with the Hillary Clinton State Department, created an elaborate story to manipulate America’s perception of what happened to our Ambassador and our soldiers in Benghazi.  And, United States Attorney General Eric Holder has evaded the truth about his running guns to Mexico and tapping the phones of AP reporters and members of Congress.

But the IRS scandal is the act of absolute despotism that exceeds the level of tolerable suffering for rank and file American citizens.  This is one agency that we all have to deal with directly.  They are powerful, arrogant, and often cruel.  We were already afraid of them.  But the new stories of their Gestapo practices to intimidate citizens who do not adore President Obama will send shockwaves throughout the nation.  The Internal Revenue Service has become the model of absolute power corrupting absolutely.

And in the ultimate expression of such government authority, the management of our personal health will now come under the control of “Obamacare’s” hand-picked Nurse Ratched.  The very bureaucrat who led the IRS attacks on conservative non-profits is now assigned to manage your health care.

As citizens, we submit ourselves to government authorities from policemen to building code inspectors to tax collectors because we have entrusted them with a combination of force, discipline and selfless wisdom.  Yet it is clearly evident that this is not an administration dedicated to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”  Rather, Americans are now disposed to suffer the evils of ambitious liberalism.

The Founding Fathers gave us instructions for this condition when they formed these United States: …all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”

The IRS has been the right arm of the Democratic Party for a very long time now

Just heard a lady call up El Rushbo, she said she was a republican fund raiser or perhaps a tea party fund raiser and that the reason the IRS scandal was purposely leaked was to shut down republican donations prior to the 2014 elections.

She also said something along the lines of she is here to tell the republican congressmen that if they do not do something about this there is no money for 2014 and there isn’t going to be, because she cannot get anyone to write a check out of fear of the IRS.

This is all paraphrase on my part, but that is essentially what was said. I figured I give you a heads up on that, Kaslin, since I do see you post transcripts for important things such as this that occur on Rush’s show.

This call happened during the second hour if I am not mistaken.

Yes, I heard it too, I think she said she was a Republican fund-raiser, and I am wondering if she can’t raise money because people are so fed up with the RINOS.

The IRS simply stole the election, de-legitimizing the current government.

If this isn’t set to rights, and soon, we’re going to see an “escalation”.

I just looked on Rush’s site, he doesn’t have anything about it yet.

It’s politically usefull to use that claim but the truth is The GOPES, government of the people elite snobs, and the RINOS did not reach out to the Tea Partys during the 2012 campaign. In fact they shunned them. And still are not welcome

Yeo, I thought that too. Personally I’m of no mind to give the GOP anything as they have given me nothing but disrespect.

But I cannot imagine that is the case for all GOP members out there.

I do think that the specter of an IRS audit would certainly chill donations though.

That call occurred within the past 60 minutes or so.

Hopefully he puts it up on his site later as I’d like to read it closely.

I do not have access to his paid site though.

I am wondering if she can’t raise money because people are so fed up with the RINOS.

That's why I won't give.
McCain, then Romney, pushed down our throats? No thanks.

[In spite of an economic crash and America’s longstanding desire to reduce the importation of Middle-Eastern oil, the Obama Administration put a stop to the Keystone Pipeline project.]

This had a lot less to do with pleasing the liberal base and more about satisfying the greed of wealthy patrons like Warren Buffett, George Soros and the Saudis.

Don’t sue the government, sue the individuals in it. That way they and not the taxpayers pay for these abuses.

Your; ...I am wondering if she can’t raise money because people are so fed up with the RINOS.

When I accidentally answer a GOP fund-raising call, I politely respond that I will not donate one red cent until the GOP runs conservative candidates who will protect and defend the Constitution. I then further tell the fundraiser that until then, I will donate directly to the candidates of my choice. Finally, I ask the fundraiser to pass my comments on to his supervisor.

My comments likely fall on deaf ears. However, my behavior of withholding all donations makes an impact. And I'd bet that more will withhold donations now that it is known the IRS has become a political weapon wielded by the Democrats!

Oh please, Romney and the GOPe dumped directly on the Tea Party and tried to disenfranchise true Conservatives. The mousy Re-pubs knew what the IRS was doing and failed to do anything before the election. They were either cowards like Mitt or complicit with the other fascist party.
Romney loss because he was a cowardly weasel!

Never under estimate how NICE republicans can be to a treasonous, seditious, provocateur of espionage..

Republicans have a pathological NEED to be liked..

Question: WHAT excitedly would Newt Gingrich be doing in the White House right now..
Were he elected?

The near-half of the population that does not pay Federal income taxes could not care less about this.

Perhaps in a year or so when the IRS is crawling up their shorts about healthcare they will.

All true, But if we don’t support the GOP, even though there are RINO’s on board, we will soon be a one party nation, and it will be full tilt communism. We either have to fight them at the voting booth, or fight them in the streets and fields, We need to keep pressure on those that will listen.
