The Justice Department obtained a portfolio of information about a Fox News correspondent's conversations and visits as part of an investigation into a possible leak, The Washington Post reported Monday -- in the latest example of the government seizing records of journalists.

The information follows the charge that the department secretly obtained two months of phone records from Associated Press journalists as part of a separate leak probe.

In the case involving Fox News' James Rosen, a government adviser was accused of leaking information after a 2009 story was published online which said North Korea planned to respond to looming U.N. sanctions with another nuclear test.

So there is no misunderstanding James Rosen did not leak any information but according to the logic of the left it is a crime to receive information

according to the logic of the left it is a crime to receive information from anywhere other than the officially approved sources.

That is what it appears to be. According to the DOJ, Rosen (a member of the free press})is now a ‘conspirator’ in their eyes.

I want to know (a) the chain of command in the DOJ that pursued this; and (b) the name of the judge signing the search order.

If the news about the Fox journalists being targeted had come out first, this would be a non-story for the mainstream media. However, since the AP report broke first, coupled with the Fox revelation, a lot of reporters must be getting very nervous these days.

I never dreamed I thought I'd live to see America become a Nazi police state. That's the good news. The bad news is that, according to CNN, Barry "The Chicago Thug" Soetoro's approval ratings jumped 2 points since yesterday as a result of all of these scandals.

Don't Feed The Bears! There's no going back now. This is the land of garbage dump bears and they don't care what the government does to them as long as they get a free "picanic basket."

The names and photos of both the FBI agent and the judge who approved this crap need to be constantly posted and talked about here at FR and at Fox News. This needs to spread. FNC needs to go after both of these people and pester them about the justification for this harassment and report on it daily.

The real Q is, will the rest of the media wake up and ask themselves, "What if it was me they targeted?". Will they start to turn on Zero and his Marxist army? Will enough reporters drop out of the Obama Propaganda Army and start doing some real reporting on this "most transparent administration in history"? Inquiring minds want to know....

Report: DOJ Investigated Fox News Reporter in 2009 Leak Probe

“I’m not saying it’s unprecedented, but I can’t think of a case in which this has ever happened before,” said Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume.

Fox News’ executive vice president of news, Michael Clemente, released a statement defending Rosen. The statement issued Monday afternoon is below:

“We are outraged to learn today that James Rosen was named a criminal co-conspirator for simply doing his job as a reporter,” Clemente said. “In fact, it is downright chilling. We will unequivocally defend his right to operate as a member of what up until now has always been a free press.”

James Rosen said last week on Fox News that he was friends with Jay Carney and respected him. I wonder if that still stands?!

In answer to your comment, you are correct. James Rosen, Fox Reporter, is Jewish.
