I live near a small (35K pop) town with an IRS office; maybe 10 seats in the waiting room. One of those 10 seats is occupied by an armed rent-a-cop whose main job appears to be to tell new arrivals how to take a number. Oh, and to enforce the no cell phone rule. If you want to look up an address or share a photo, he makes you leave the building. So I imagine the Cinncinnati armed escort business is S.O.P. God help the reporters if they tried to take a picture.

Same with social security office. Two armed guards in an office that could hold maybe 20 people tops.

All standard procedure these days ~ with almost all federal sites with public entry.

Ever try to go back to the workroom floor in a post office?

Our local SS office has been similar since Obozo became our glorious leader with what appears to be a renta cop.
